My new AluCab cap arrived at 8:30am today in a big honking box.
Well packed standing upright on the front wall. Package was very easy to move about. Made a cold, rainy Monday morning absolutely awesome!

Probably won't get installed today as I have to go to work in a few hours. Can't get a second pair of hands until Weds.
Putting together a way to install solo. May have to air the tires down to get enough clearance in the shop to do it, have only a few inches to spare.
A few more snaps.....

Nice to see good quality stainless hardware and proper piece count. The attachment brackets are well made laser cut and welded stainless construction. Everything fits as it should. The plastic caps are a nice touch for the nuts and bolt heads. Plenty of lock keys.
No paperwork of any kind was in the box. Fitment instructions are online at Alu-Cab. But really, a sheet or two of guidance should be included with the cap.
Tomorrow will be install day. Decided it was prudent to have a second set of hands.....

mine hasn't shipped from NJ yet. =( i'll live vicariously through you for a few days i guess.
Crazy they didn't have a 2 page install sheet included. This thing was like $3500+ for crying out loud.

Onto the lift table and setting up some temporary cross bars for a low profile single point lift.

Some of my “coal burners”. These are all the real deal, burn coal, make steam, and operate like the real thing. Pretty impressive power and plenty of opportunity to toughen up your fingertips on hot things!

That's really cool. I'd say your chalkboard scratchings look pretty good.

Wow!
Glad you got yours so fast.. I’m still waiting on a notice they are on the way to my dealer.
they look very well built. I’m hoping to get mine in a couple of days.

PS if you ever find yourself near Roanoke VA you should stop at the transportation Museum. The fastest steam locomotive was built here and is at the museum. The famous 611!
