I have had issues with just "service" interval things and with warranty battery replacement. Yep, didn't tighten the cables on the battery. Thru all kinds of crazy stuff after 5 minutes. Got home and opened the hood, there's the 10mm socket and wrench already there for me to finish the job! Just recently had the coolant system "flushed"....30 minutes later, parked and steam shooting all out of the hood....they didn't close the cap to the coolant. Just stupid stuff that distracted people would do. I'm kinda reluctant to have them do anything I couldn't go back and check......like the transmission service which seems tedious.

Well..you got a spare 10mm and 1/4" wrench out of the deal. The metal gods must love all those 10mm's I have lost over the years. Why is always the 10mm!?!?!?

I get you on the tedious stuff. I still have concerns that they put the wrong fluid type back in my transmission. And just saw another post today about someone talking about green vs red trans fluid color. ugh.... how lame is it you have to worry about those kind of things on a $60K+ vehicle.

Yeah and the manufacturer I think recommend trans service at 50k, my dealer has the service at 80k and I've read some members are thinking "lifetime"? Still procrastinating on that decision.

The jam nut on the control arm rod end is also up against the rod end instead of the arm...

I’m not the guy who is looking over anyone’s shoulder. I was a contractor for about 30 years all together and I think it’s a better use of my time to pay good people to do good work. But it is also a good practice to double check any work that may put you, your family or someone else’s safety at risk. So while I was installing my power steps I gave a double check of my undercarriage because I just had a lift installed and the alignment done and I noticed a few things. First picture what little things can you notice that are not quite right?

Are those alignment brackets on there along with the adjustable LCA's? Why would you do that ?

In the owners manual, Jeep says the fluid in the transmission is a 'lifetime' fill and doesn't need changed.

The designer of the transmission recommends service at something like 60k miles. The units for the gas JT are built in a Stellantis factory, not in the designers German facility.

I'm guessing.....when does the factory transmission warranty expire? Probably recommended at that time....I do have a 2008 Chevy with over 400,000 and original trans and only substituting 2Qts every 10k miles since 125,000 miles service. But It's an open system I can get to.

Stuff like this just makes me want to just get older model vehicles, that the average shade tree guy/gal can work on themselves.

the mechanic insisted I order them as he couldn’t make it work without them. You can see the first attempt with the “beat to shit” end of the lower control arm…

What you can’t see is that on the main body of the control arms there is another hole for a grease fitting to go and since it’s at a 90 there is room to get the grease gun nozzle on it no problem. So the fact that they were careless enough to end up on the bottom is just stupidity.
Bingo.
I'm also the sort to have at times drilled and tapped for fittings when the stock location was dumb.

Geometry correcting brackets (if that's what you are referring to) may not put the caster in the range desired. (depending on the lift).
Depends on the bracket (those that put the hole straight down from factory merely return caster to factory), and on other factors.
I can see doing it.

If that doesn’t work you can always just beat the shit out of it and use plenty of Licktite…
