My local dealer has a black LE sitting on the lot, been there for a few weeks. I'm trying to figure out how many dealers are in the same boat, bought a LE for some sizzle on the lot and now it sits there.

I know there is a white one at my local dealer too. They just posted to Facebook about it. I don't know if there is a way to search for them though since they aren't a trim level in the find tool and they weren't a part of the dealer order process so wouldn't show as in transit or something. They had to be "sold" to an individual so I think it'd be hard to do any search for them.

I'm curious about the "sold to an individual" suggestion. I never saw anything saying that had to be the case and I think there a lot of dealers ordered one to put on their lot, figuring it'd sell super fast. It's great marketing for Jeep to have them "sell out in under 24 hrs" so I don't see why they'd prevent a dealer from letting them do that, though maybe only one truck per dealer. It's unfortunate that you can't easily look at dealer availability easily.

They couldn't just "order one" though. Due to the way the consierge system worked, a physical person had to put in on the website, get a call from FCA, then get linked to a dealership that wrote up the paperwork to receive the LE. In talking with management at the dealership I worked with (which was a near 3 month process due to how long it took to get the darn thing), they had 2 or 3 employees put in orders. I know of one that actually kept his, but I'm pretty positive the other conveniently backed out of the purchase leaving it for the dealership to deal with. Now, there were people who had multiple LE's reserved at multiple dealerships due to them having more than one submission on the website and consierge call. I'm sure others backed-out after sticker shock, haggling going bad, or tired of waiting.

So a couple of weeks back I was getting frustrated waiting for my Granite LE (well, still frustrated...). I did a search for SoCal dealers (San Diego/LA). I found 13 LEs sitting for sale on dealer lots. Contacted a couple of the dealers and they all wanted MSRP (or more).

I contacted my dealer (Kent @ Peterson in Idaho) and told him my frustration at Jeep's lack of indication of ever beginning build of the Granite LEs. He offered me either a Silver or Black LE he had coming in without any reservations on them. I'm taking the Silver one.

So, dealers are getting these to sit on the lot and they never "sold out" of the 4190 in one day like the marketing folks want you to believe.

You can search for them (I did). The trim is still a Rubicon, with a MSRP of $62310.

As of yesterday (Sunday) there was a red LE sitting on the lot here in Lexington, KY. Also a black Sport S with a lift, tires, wheels, light bar. Dunno if either of them are sold units or not.

I was driving by one of my local dealerships and they had just received a firecracker red LE so I stopped in. Long story short, I’m about to take it home!!!
They Gladstone CDJR had received two and there’s another dealership in town Olathe CDJR that shows to have 6 inbound.
My guess is that any “left over” LE’s were allocated to dealerships probably based on sales volume. I could be wrong but the window sticker reads “sold to Gladstone DCJR”

According to cars.com, there are "over 358" LEs. The lowest priced ones are $54,292 and the highest is $77,310

Autotempest is your friend for searching for any car over multiple platforms. Just add launch edition to the "key word" and it should pick up some.

Apparently, from what I understand, the "Stand alone" dealerships were allowed to order a certain number of LE's depending on their sales volume, my dealer got to order 3 and they have one left on the showroom! The "Stand alone" dealerships also are getting way more Gladiators than the other dealerships, mine has 7 on the lot and another 15 on the way!
