Not at all!

It shows your commitment.

What winch did you pick up?

That's a good choice.

I ran a M8000 on the XJ. Warn makes good stuff.

Synthetic line is something I wish I had.

I have the M8000 with Synthetic line on my JKU currently. Its been great. I also Highly recommend the synthetic line, as not only is it safer, but dont run into as many issues with if freezing up in the winter.

With the JK/JL you could get away with an 8,000 lbs winch. On the JT I will caution that if you plan on using it to haul off-road (i.e. Overland, or off-road trailer), I would encourage you to look at the 12,000 lbs winches. You will be pushing the limits of the 8,000 pound winches when approaching the higher GVWR/GCVWR of the JT compared to the JK/JL.

9,500 should be ok for an easier recovery, loaded, stuck in the mud you will be pushing it.

What is/was ok for the Wrangler (a lot of people buy 8,000 winches, but I would argue outside of an easier recovery you are pushing the limits), is not going to be ok for the Gladiator.

On the Gladiator the 9,500-10,000 winches are going to be on the low end, and will likely need snatch blocks if stuck in mud, with 12,000 pounds being better, These aren't much lighter than full size 1/2 ton trucks.

I have been buying camping equipment here and there to replace my old worn out stuff in anticipation of the JT. I need some recovery goodies to fill out my gear bag but other than that I am just waiting for pricing to be revealed.

I appreciate the winch discussion. I had been wondering about winch sizing. I have the 9.5ti on my LJ and was thinking the JT might need a bit more umph. I suppose if people go with a bigger winch, they will need to check the rating of their bumper, winch mount and other components to ensure everything in the system has the capacity to match the winch.

I just picked up a set of 4 Goodyear Duratrac 315/70/17's for $744. That is with installation included come spring. Other than that I am just saving every dime I can for the huge downpayment I want to have.
