I'm looking at adding a CB for off-roading. Any of you guys have one mounted in the JT yet? I'm sitting here looking at the interior trying to figure out where to put one that won't be hard to use and won't be in the way. I'm not really wanting to put holes in the plastic dash or console. Under the seat? On top of the sound bar (there's room between the bar and the soft top)?

Any ideas?

An archaic device used to ask for bear reports that are hours old and to track the whereabouts of the Tremor worms.

Do people just use handhelds nowadays or still hard mounted ones?
Handhelds, be it either CB’s or Ham radios, tend to have less power than fixed units.

@CarolinaGladiator

Here is my setup, midland handheld that has a mounted setup also. I then got A pillar mounts, mounted a Wilson antenna, because I wanted to run the ground myself and Wilson already has a ground wire, ran the antenna cable through the firewall on the passenger side, added a cb mount to the OH Crap bar and there it is. As noted, you get better range with a mounted antenna. I also added some lights :). Hope this helps

I did not want a full size cb, so this works exceptionally all well for me. Take pictures and have fun!

I haven't gotten around to it but i plan on mounting cb and a ham radio.

I have a couple mounts from my jk that should work.

For the antennas i was hoping to get a role bar and mounting to that eventually

So tell me about that antenna mount. Is it mounted in the bed or on the top of the bed rail?

And how the wire was run. I think I see it under the top on the drivers side. If I'm wrong that's fine but I recommend a clean run without pinching or damaging weather stripping. But, like I said, I could be wrong.

I have a cobra 75 with a mount near the grab handle. The antenna cable is run out of a floor drain plug. The antenna is attached near the hood and front fender.
