THis will be out first Christmas in Denver and I think it would be a lot of fun to take our 2 and 3 year old out to find a Christmas tree... *by find I mean Go out to the mountains and cut it down ourself.
Was thinking scouting out a tree soon and then going back during the permit season...

Any advice/experience?

Thx

Someone was selling trees a bit below me in Deer Creek Canyon last year. There's also usually a little pre-cut outfit across the street from Tiny Town on Turkey Creek up 285.

The one in DCC, I believe, was letting people cut their own. Unless the contention is that it's not far enough out, in which case I got nothing for you. We either decorate one of the trees in the yard or have a little table top tree we got when we were expecting a baby right around xmas.

We went off of montezuma road near keystone. $10 for permit online. My kids really enjoyed it. Easy trailhead parking.
