Ruins the purpose of having the rock rails, but a useful adaptation of what's already installed.
I see your point but they can be removed or am I missing something. I'm just basically looking for something occasionally so my parents can get in and out

You might drag it on a curb at the mall.

Ha. my first mall joke.

But in all seriousness. I'm thinking a plastic Rubbermaid stool would be ideal. You could set it out a bit to make it even easier for them.

Maybe something like one of these.

Well the idea would be to just keep them on and then remove them if I went off road. I'm not opposed to how they look, I just want something removable and not permanent.

who wants to carry around a rubbermaid plastic step stool. LOL. yall cant be serious. The concept is they can be bolted on when just driving daily, and then when hitting trails or whatever, you pop them off. Seems like a great idea to me.

I have them. I'll let you know if I ever install them. 100$ on Amazon so I jumped. It was a damaged but never opened box and Amazon discounted it heavy. Had someone else's label still on it.

Just drill the holes, add the rivnuts and you're done. Take time deciding where they go for sure. It isn't flat under there so will be a pain from what I saw.

True, I guess but for those of us that do not go off road frequently this seems like the solution for needing side steps and not wanting to remove your factory rock rails. Not to mention these steps are $150 for a set of 4 instead of up to $1000 for complete replacements for your factory rails. Hell, I can buy a nice rivet tool to install these and STILL save a lot of money!

I'm wondering if the specialty bolt place near me would have a wing-style bolt I could use with a lock washer to mount these? That way no tool would be needed if you were to find yourself heading off-road with obstacles unexpectedly.

MORE folding steps are what you want.
I don't like the more steps and they are way over priced. I just don't like the look of them.

I may end up giving those rampage ones a shot. Looking at that other thread it appears he mounted them directly to the rock rails which would make a pretty easy install.

Mopar doesn’t make an addable drop step yet? I saw some other brands that have the removable step from the rail, surprised Mopar hadn’t created something as well.

I have the NFab Predators. Love the look and the function for wife and son. I kept my mopar rails for the day I decide to go rock crawling. They were pretty quick and easy to put on, and use all the same hardware. I get the convenience of the bolt on step idea. It'd be great if mopar added a factory option/accessory. I’d consider selling my Predators if that happened.
