New to Jeeps - so need to ask a simple question: why would you get the auxiliary switch group and what would you do with it? What are some of the things you would hook up to this? Trying to understand if I should spend the money because I will need it later or if it is extraneous. Thanks for looking!

If you plan on adding any additional lights, like a light bar or trail lights/rock lights it's nice to have because the wiring is already in place. I didn't get it on mine so it is going to be more involved when I go to add lights. I think you can also use the Aux switches for a winch, etc. So if you plan on adding any of these things in the future go ahead and get it.

Auxiliary lights, winches, air pump. They have certain capacity on each line.
It’s spelled out in the manual.
Ask your sales rep for specific info before you order it. I will set up my switches with
Cowl lites & a winch eventually.
Cheers

Having lines pre-run to both in cab and the engine compartment, ya worth it.
The ability to program those switches on screen on/off or momentary; reset with each start or memory, ya worth it.

I'm not using all (yet):
Switched HOT line in cab: DashCam
Constant HOT line in engine compartment: power for bumper lights (on/off controlled with the OEM fogs)
Aux 1: Lightbar
Aux 2:
Aux 3:
DOT lights
Aux 4:

That's one of the no-brainer options in my opinion.

Hook up extra lights front, back, interior, under the hood, in the bed, wherever. Some people run power for winches or run power for a compressor.

It's a cheap option for factory switches and connection points.

It’s definitely worth getting. As stated above, you get wiring inside the cab and in the engine bay. This is soo convenient that you don’t have to add an external switch bank/pod and you don’t have to fish wires through the metal firewall.

I’m using mine to power my cb and dash camera. Soon will be a bumper led / cowl lights and a arb air pump.

Can the cables carry enough current for a winch? All the winches I’ve run have large cables that connect directly to the battery.
The dash switch should just control a relay you would locate under the hood. The Winch power would run through the relay direct to the battery.

If I’m reading the correctly, you can have a constant hot line for your dash cam without using one of the switches?

YES!
There's two identical bundles of wires, already pre-wired.
one in the engine compartment near the fuse block
one under the passenger side dash
Both of them look like a single loom, wrapped in Gaffing Tape.
Unroll the tape, and both contain 6x wires: 1x constant HOT, 1x ignition controlled HOT, 4x switched wires.
The switch adjustments are in the settings screen under AUX SWITCHES.
This setup is truly great.

I wouldn't.
I would run winch power direct and use the switch to control it thru a relay.

Worth pointing out that you only get the extra two wires if the AUX package came from the factory. If you install the switches after the truck is built, the kit doesn't come with them.

I'm using one wire for a dashcam and will later add a compressor, bed lights, and rock lights. Not sure what I'll do with the rest yet. I've seen some electric airhorns wired up but I don't see a need for that myself.

I've been wondering about this. Did you by the MOPAR Aux switches and install after the fact? I asked a local stereo shop about that and they weren't sure if it was possible, something about not wanting to splice into the original wiring harness or something. But I saw that you can purchase it and that is what I want to do.
