Nice work! I’ve been considering something similar, so good to see others working on it.

As you know, very hard to get pics solo of the reverse lights but here are a few! Its overcast outside and garage lights are off, door open but I can see a tremendous improvement in light visibility. Going hunting tonight so I’ll get more in the pitch dark when I get to the lease!!!

Nice work! I have a few questions. First, what exactly is the metal you used to replace the red reflector pieces and where did you get it? How did you wire in the lights? Tap the reverse lights? Aux switch? Relay?

Thanks!

I bought a 16ga steel plate at HomeDepot and tapped the reverse wire at the trailer harness. I also wired them to one of my aux wires and wired in diodes so that I dont get feedback thru the lines!

Love what you're doing! If you could provide info on this (wiring into both reverse and aux and which diodes and how you wired them in) I would greatly appreciate it...

Well, I tapped into the reverse light on the trailer harness (center wire) and just ran a wire from the engine bay for the aux wire and just tapped one of the LED + wires. I put a 5A 60v diode for the aux wire on the connection in the engine bay and the other on the tap for the reverse wire. On the diode, the end with the gray stripe goes towards the lights. Thats it...

Just to be clear, you ran ran the AUX so you could turn the lights on manually as well (instead of only when in reverse?
