Apparently Jeep really does care.

Hi Lee,
I did hear back from our internal resources and they informed me that all Black and Granite Gladiators are getting the spray in bed liner and it is a free option. I hope this provides some clarification!

This makes very little sense, but if true, it could drive some color choices. Maybe they aren't seeing as many black/granite orders as they want, so they're sweetening the pot a little.

If they are giving you something free, its because they screwed something up! Maybe the paint is too thin on the flat areas or the robots are having issues getting paint coverage
Agreed completely. I just hope that whatever they are hiding/covering up with the bed liner doesn't become a problem down the road.

It’s not on my build tracker sheet and my order was placed 5/14- still currently in JB status

Paid for it and my order is black. Oh well, I really wanted the factory liner and feel like I made out okay considering they still knocked off some for tread lightly and it didn't have the huge markup that people are dealing with on the lots.

I ordered a Black Sport S with the bedliner option. Picked up on July 13th and the bedliner was not there. I got my money back for the bedliner cost, however, I would prefer the bedliner for free rather than pay for Line-X.

So is anyone thinking they have a leg to stand on to get a free liner if they ordered but did not get it? It sets a dangerous precedent that they're making some people pay for it and others not.

if some people are getting it for free regardless of preference, while others paid for it and got it, and others paid for it but didn't get it, and then got refunded (how did that work with financing/leasing is what I'm wondering), that's not a good look for Jeep.

Jeep might just have the worst business practices I've seen in quite some time. They run their company like a seller on craigslist. never know what you're gonna get.

It was forced on my build (sting gray) but I didn’t get it, even though it’s listed on the sticker and invoice. The dealer just took the amount off our agreed on price. So I didn’t pay for it, the dealer did. I imagine they will go after Jeep to get their money back. If a dealer charges you for something that isn’t there, that’s pretty messed up.

My price included the bedliner at $441 plus 4% tax. When I went into pick up the Gladiator, I noticed the bed was not lined. The dealer offered to have the bed lined (would have had to come back another day and drop it off), or he could refund me the amount I had paid. I opted to have him print up a new sales contract that deleted $458 from the price I owed. My plan was to take it to a Line-X (closer to my house) and pay what I hope is at or under $500.

$500 seems about the going rate for the standard Line-X application. The cost goes up for the premium and platinum applications.
