So currently running 285/75R17 (33.8 in) on my Sport S with Max Tow, feeling good, still enough power to spin my wheels on sand. But wanted to know, How is your experience with 35s and 4.10s? can you hit the 8th gear on the Highway? feel good? feel lack of power?

For overall performance whats it the best gear for 35s?

If many people say that 4.88 is the ''way to go'' for 37s, are 4.56s the way to go with 35s?

I read in one Forum that 4.88s will work fine with 35s too, but I thing that combination will be to much.

Any experience is helpful.

35 and 3.73 is ok until you hit a hill on a highway. It'll get itself into 8th on the flats fine but has to drop way down to 5th to get up the hills leading to Tahoe on I-80. There was zero ability to accelerate up the hill just hold speed.

So depends what your normal driving is. If it's around town there's zero issues. If it's highway hills you may want to consider but it isn't necessary.

If I lived in like Colorado hills id absolutely do it. If I lived in Florida probably not

I'll probably do 4.88 when I do re-gear because I could see myself doing 37s one day. I also have the lower ratio crawl box, not the 4:1 of the Rubicon.

Agreed. If you tow or highway a lot some deeper gears might be worth. I haven’t heard a lot of guys rehear for 35

i have the 6 spd and put quite a few miles on 35/37's with the 3.73, fine on the street, a 4-speed essentially with the occasional drop into 5th on the flats on the highway, useless for anything that will challenge the tires, hill starts, even bumping a light trailer up onto a curb in reverse

now i have 4.88's and 80 mph comes at 2700 rpm, which with little bit more od on 8th with the auto might get that down to 2600 maybe in the 2500 rpm range...i mostly do 75 mph on hwy where i live, i do tow, i would not want to be an deeper in the gearing, it's awesome match, the auto gives you a bit more flexibility but i think for 35's if you go to 4.88's you won't be happy with how high the rpm will be on the highway when you're trying to get decent mileage running empty, you'll want to aim more for 2400 rpm in top gear at 80 and i'd bet the charts will be telling you 4.56 is as far as you'd want to go

having said that these trucks proportionately look right on 37's, i started with 35's but just wasn't enough, the auto will spin 37's on 4.56 pretty dang good as it has a bit more flexibility than the 6 spd

I have a JL Rubicon with 4.10s and 35s as well. It will stay in 8th on the highway no problem. It does well enough to where we have never even thought about regearing. 4.10 is well within a good range for 35s.

On my JT I have 39s and 5.13 and I feel like it's underpowered. I think 5.13 and 37s is the right combo tbh.

So in my opinion 35s and 4.10. don't regear unless you go larger since you'll have plenty of power.

My thoughts exactly. It depends on how flat it is. If I'm driving up the 17 towards Flagstaff here I have to get into the gas with 3.73s and 35s but they are fine all the rest of the time. I'm usually in 8th on the freeway too

If I was still commuting from Santa Cruz to Mountain View over the 17 I'd regear!

Im running 3.73's with 35's and I never see 8th unless Im coasting to stop. 7th just depends...any type of incline or head wind what so ever and it will drop into 6th. Really considering 4.56. Just dont know if Ill ever actually do it.

I got 4.10 gears on my Max Tow and it feels perfect for 35's to me. I'm averaging between 18.5-19 MPGs and I live in the foothills/Piedmont section of North Carolina so I encounter rolling hills. My buddies got a Overland on 35's and he is getting about 16mpgs average on 3.73 gears and he complains about not seeing 8th a lot. Mine drives and rides so we'll I'm going to 37's when my 35's wear out and I'm not considering a regear when I do.

I have 37's with 5.13 gears. At 70 MPG the RPM is right about 2,275, 75 it's 2,450, and 80 is 2,600. 35's with 4.88 should approximate these speeds/RPMs. I was worried about spinning the engine too much, but honestly it's much happier in the 2,200-2,600 RPM range, especially with thee big/heavy tires. I'm seeing 19 MPG at 65 MPH on the highway in CO... don't like driving this thing at 80. If I was to do it all over again, I'd go deeper to 5.38 with 37s. It's hard to go too deep with this 8 speed auto. The factory ratios just lug the engine way too much in the search for every last fractional MPG.

Owner of a 6 week old 2021 JT Rubicon. Equipped with 2" Mopar lift and 35 12.50 17's. First test was mpg. City driving was 283.4 divided by 18.75 gals.=15.11 mpg. I was surprised by the results. Plenty of power. I let a Jeep expert friend drive it. He felt no regear from 4.10 needed. So far plenty of power. Then speedometer adjustment. A portion of a highway travelling west and east bound going to and from the beach has a dangerous curve. It is equipped with radar to detect high full retard speeds. On the straightaway part of this hgihway, I look at my speedometer and posted speed of my vehicle detected. At 50 mph on my speedometer and 52mph on the radar. Everyday as I pass through, same results. This test is done without another vehicle present to be accurate. I don't need to buy a Tazer or Flashcal for that. If something else comes up that I might need those gadgets, I will buy one. So far it works.

I have a 35 12.50 17, 2" Mopar lift in my 2021 JT Rubicon with 6 speed manual/4.10 gears. Plenty of power, 15 mpg city. Drove it through highway with radar. Only 2 mph off, 50 on my speedo and 52 on radar. Can't find programmer. Just in case computer still thinks it's on 285 70 17. Any suggestions if a programmer will work?

I purchased the ECRI (but it looks like its' on backorder on their site and amazon.) The App is great and it is not tied to one Jeep like the Tazer.
