Has anybody seen any sport S without lift and 33 or 35" tires? Wondering if a rubicon take off will fit the stock fenders and lift, wondering more optimistically if a 35" would have a snowballs chance in hell to fit stock lift and stock fenders.

I just called Tire Rack and the biggest they say we can go without rubbing is LT275/65R17. I am looking to get the rubicon wheels and slightly bigger tires.. the only thing I don't like about the Sport S is the wheels/tires.

I wouldn't trust Tire Rack to change my wiper blades.

You can run 285/75-17 on stock Sport models. Lots of threads and pictures of it being done on the JL side.

What @WXman said. Don't trust tire rack. Heck, when I bought my wheels for my JL, I had to educate the sales people at Discount Tire Direct. They were so used to the specs that applied to the JK that they automatically thought the same specs as the JK applied to the JL.

On tires stay with major brands and you should be fine. I am not a fan of Chinese cheap tires. For a little more you can get some good tires. Be aware some major brands use cheap Chinese too. Do your homework on what you like. Ask questions here. Lots of good advice on this forum.

Thinking Method MR305 NV in black wrapped in 285/75/17 Ridge Grapplers for my Silver Sports S with Max Tow/Wide Axles. Maybe a 2" lift or leveling kit later. Yes, no, maybe?

@steffen707 i saw a pic of a white sport s with 33’s and no lift... let me see if I can find it again. We have a JLU Sahara and have 33’s, no lift, no rubbing or issues... so I’m pretty certain you can do 33’s without a problem.
