I searched on here and found no results for this question. What are the largest tires I can run on my JTS if I switch from stock springs to Rubi take-offs? I’m hoping I can run 285-75-17s and still moderately off-road without any spacers or lift at this time. I have read that I can for sure run 285-70-17s. Any opinions out there? Remember, I’m shy of three months being a “true” Jeep owner (I had a ‘96 Cherokee Sport but just played a bit with it) and still learning just about everything.

With just a few spacers you can easily clear 315s. It’s cheap and easy to do and will still ride like factory since you’re using stock shocks and springs.

You can run it easily on the 285s (not quite 33s). As mentioned, the ubiquitous Teraflex 1.5” spacers will allow 315s (35s). Either option requires a Speedo rest for tire size. Your dealer can do it or you can get a JSCAN subscription or Tazer, a dongle and the security module bypass cable and do it yourself.

Just be aware, the MOMENT you start modifying the stock setup you’ve entered a rabbit hole that has no exit! ?

I’m already digging some holes with military decals, bed liner, floor mats, bestop supertop. This is more expensive than my last hobby of drinking bourbon. Don’t hurt my health or marriage half as much though, so I figure there is a mathematical equation that shows I’m coming out ahead.

My biggest concern was if I need to stay 70 or can I go 75 on 285s?

75s (not quite 34s) should be fine.

You can. I'm running 285/75r17's. I did use the TeraFlex 1.5 levelling kit for the front to lose the rake and added 1.75 wheel spacers (for a little more "poke".)

Yes. I'm not as avid of an offroader as I was when I was younger, but I have flexed it and have no rubbing with my current setup.
