1. High West Double Rye
Has quite a bite, but hard to beat the Rye flavor in this one)

2. Angels Envy.
(Bourbon aged in previously used Rum casks)
Never would have thought it would be good. Surprisingly, it’s become one of my favorites. Something about that slightly sweet note at the end is very unique.

What about yours?

For daily I find myself (more times than not) reaching for Four Roses SB. It’s just so consistent.

Best bottle current: probably Weller CYPB White

Whistle Pig for mixing, Angel’s Envy for sipping.

One of my best friends and I had a blind taste test a few years ago comparing 5 bourbons set up by our wives. Interestingly, we both picked the same exact order, number 5 (worst of the 5) and number 1 (best of the five) as above. We were a bit puzzled as we like WP, but then realize we used WP regularly for making manhattans and old fashions.

Old Fashions are by far my favorite drink overall. I try one where ever I go to see what the local idea of thinking is towards the drink. Often times disappointed.
Here the last couple years, I prefer them smoked. Firing up some light hickory smoke to add into a large jar, pour in the Old Fashioned, shake furiously for about 5 seconds, open jar,..savor the fresh hickory and bourbon smell blending together.....then pour into glass,...drop in cherry and Orange peel.....Cheers to everyone then consume!

Shit, ..that sounded too good, now headed to kitchen,..going to make a pitcher of it!

Y’all have a great day JT Brethren!

I very seldom use any type of mixer with my bourbon......I like sippin’ and I take it neat with just a 1/2 splash water.

Plain old everyday least expensive best bang for the Buck.....Knob Creek Rye

Good go to for me that is still not expensive but a step up....Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel (Barrel Proof or Rye)

Or finally small batch out of this world quality, somewhat hard to get and expensive....Garrison Brothers (Cowboy Bourbon or Balmorhea)

So I realized I had not mentioned the Honey Dew on the left side of picture....you may have tasted Jack Daniel’s Honey Whiskey before and it is sweet with honey.....the Honey Dew is much different....the Master Distiller took bourbon barrel staves, cut them into cubes and immersed them in honey. Once fully absorbed the cubes were placed in a stainless tank and Garrison Bro’s aged bourbon was added. It sat in the steel tank for 7 months. There was not honey added, no sugary sweetness added just the honey taste that the bourbon grabbed from those cubed staves. Very nice sipping stuff and very reasonably priced.

i 2nd the Weller and Blanton. Very hard to find though. JD use to be my daily drinker but now I vary from day to day. I’ve got some Blanton horse doubles I’d trade if anyone is interested. I’d like to eventually get a full set.

I have Weller willing to trade, also have some Blanton’s caps to trade.
Lemme know which you’re looking for. (Blanton caps)
