So I have read and read on this... I know there has been several posts.

Before I go to the hardware store does anyone know what size the factory bolts are, that are in the passenger grab bar. I don’t want to have to redrill or rethread it.

I am piecing this together and you can get a 1” ram ball on eBay super cheap.

Should be able to gather most parts on eBay to do this I am thinking. Anyone else built one lately?

I've seen posts here that mention a company that makes them. Just buy and screw it in.

Nice! I ordered my the passenger grab rail ball mount from you a few days ago! :captain:
Didn't mean to confuse anyone. I'm not affiliated with them, that is from an email they sent me a couple days ago.

There's another thread about DIY'ing the Ram ball mount. I refuse to pay $40.00 (approx $8.00 of that is "shipping") for a Ram ball from Carolina Metalmasters (CMM)

I understand but it doesn’t require me to redrill or rethread or take the time to get the parts to put it together... I figure after taking all that into consideration.. it’s no big deal.

I did buy the ram x mount and the socket separately, which I saved the cash there.

I have always hated paying higher prices for things like that. But, at some point you have to decide what your time is worth, and what else could be accomplished with the time spent on a DIY project. As I get older, I find myself more willing to pay someone to do something that I would have done myself when younger.

Agreed but not at gouge-like pricing
