This part of the promo video seams to suggest that you can do this which would be HUGE for me and give me a ton of room to install the child seat (our baby seat is very long)

Do any of you have knowledge of this? Has anyone tried it in the JL?

I wouldn’t think so. I think they were showing rear tether points

You are required to use the seat belt to secure the child seat. If the seats are down there is no way to latch the seatbelt

Fold the rear seat any way you want.
Throw the kids in the bed.

You know I miss those days. I was just reminiscing about them this morning during my morning constitution.
My dad used to throw us boys both in the back of his Ford Ranger pickup in the early 90s and we'd get on the freeway at 70mph which was probably that truck's top speed. Didn't think twice about it and no one ever passed judgement. Of course if I did that with my boy today I would end up in jail, on the 5 o'clock news and they'd probably extradite me out of California for life and take away all my driving privileges. All in the name of progress. The world (mainly CA) sure went and made a mess of itself in a 30 short years. Great. Now I'm depressed.

Wait! WTF is wrong with wooden spoons? Is that a thing?
Add to that
- 5 second rule
- Wonder out in the woods
- Ride public transport
- Eat Halloween candy
- Play with bugs
- Eat snow (not the yellow kind)

--- survivor

And heck I wasn't even the tough kid. Far from it.

Wooden spoon? That's for girls I bet.
I got my lashings using the chord from the clothing iron. Or the business end of the belt. Didn't grow up in the US though until I was in my mid-teens so my school teachers also were allowed to hit us. They used wooden dowels, basically long 20" or so rounded sticks with a bit of flex to them. Right on the back of the hand on cold days. You didn't get out of line too often with that shit. This is before we had ADHD.

My grandma used the wooden spoon, my grandpa used a belt. The wooden spoon is essential the same as those dowels your teachers used.

We were old school - back of the hand or flat of the palm. "Hurts me more than it does you." Uh huh

I felt the cupped side of a wooden spoon many-a-time. I think the slight curve allowed for a more complete contact zone. lol!
