My wife was out of town this week so I decided to leave my Silverado 2500HD at home and load tools/equipment in her truck. Turns out, you can do testing of power distribution equipment out of a Gladiator. I may or may not have intended to drive her truck the day I was testing a transformer because of the color.

I use my JT for field service work all the time.
Plenty of room for tools & test equipment.
It’ll take me anywhere I need to go in comfort.
I just wish it used a bit less fuel.

Nice color matching.
BTW. I work for Siemens low voltage electrical distribution equipment. Switchgear, Switchboards, Panelboards, Busway. If ever you work on our gear know that a fellow Gladiator owner was involved in designing it.

My company is trying to get us to work on UPS' from our own vehicles. They would have to pay me a lot of money to put 40k miles/year on my Jeep. I'm enjoying a free vehicle, no insurance bill, and free gas a little too much to give it up.

I don’t blame you. I provide trucks to all my guys. Currently have 17 service trucks in the fleet.

Those are nice. I'll look for you on the road. Our company had Ram 1500s on order, but the new owner is pinching pennies and canceled the order. Only about 10 out of the 90 or so trucks nationwide delivered. I'm driving a beat up Ram ProMaster. At least it's free.

If they do offer me enough money to drive my Jeep, I refuse to put a sign on it. Right now they are at $1000/month + gas. They will only guarantee the deal for 1 year. I would need a minimum 5 years in writing so I'll have time to pay my Jeep off and I'd like more money. $1000 doesn't cover my payment and insurance, but the tax deduction would be nice.

Why not just take it even if it just for a year? You already own the jeep and have insurance weather or not you use it for work. As long as the jeep doesn't decrease more than you make a month you are ahead. I assume you are making your payment already so you could continue to make your payment like always and throw an extra 12 large at your loan and pay it off early. Doing that could easily put in in a better position to trade up model years if you would choose to. The only big question would be are you going to be doing things for your company that would damage your gladiator? If not how could you lose? Other than a possible insurance increase if you choose to tell them you are using it for work. That one I would keep quite about and play dumb if something happens.

If I use it for work, I won't want to lift it and put bigger tires on. I already put a bed cover on and if I had known I was going to work out of it I would have bought a topper instead. They've burned me before when I was dependent on the allowance and they forced me into a company car. I had to sell my last Jeep over that. Money was tighter then and my now X was blowing through my money. It just left a bad taste in my mouth and up until I bought my Gladiator, they swore up and down that my vehicle was on order and should be here by May. It never happened and I don't want to trust them.
