I’m getting a lot of mixed opinions when it comes to wheels and backspacing. I’m trying to get some beadlocks on my JTR and all options I like only offer them in a 3.5” backspacing. Some say “you’ll be fine” while others say that they wouldn’t run that aggressive with the factory axles and axle shafts. Can anyone speak to whether this is true or not or if anyone has had issue running that size on their JT?

It’s just going to add extra stress to the ball joints and wheel bearings. I wouldn’t personally worry about it unless you have tire coverage laws. I have beadlocks with 4.75” backspacing and they stick out pretty far so I sweat it in my state.
