Any idea how long it takes without rushing too much, but also without purposefully going slow? Stupid work.

Excellent post. My wife and I were just talking about this. It’s the last jewel in the Utah Big 5 that we have yet to do.

Thinking of going up this year before they shut down for winter.

Great pics of what looks to be a great trip. Even more motivation to make it happen soon.

Thanks for posting.

I pieced together a bunch of routes I wanted to do in Utah, and we headed out on Sunday. We stopped at Monument Valley and took the self guided tour on a dirt loop. It was actually pretty fun. I’ve driven through on the highway for years but never stopped. I’m glad I finally did.

After that we headed up Moki Dugway, a cool set of switchbacks that lift you up about 1000 ft.

We found a nice camp spot on Muley Point and relaxed to a beautiful view of Monument Valley in the distance.

Nice selection of your pix for the Capital Reef area.
Have been there a few time between 96-2009. Old Trooper II 4 times & later by VStrom MC.
I understand there have been a few roads closed by BLM, since my times there.
However you did a great job sharing pix of a must see ADV.

What a great trip. I was out at Monument Valley last fall. Did the hike around the mittens and then the self guided vehicle trail. Had an awesome time out west and MV was one of the stops. Lots of “strays” out there looking for handouts. I guess they’re local dogs out doing their thing as some had collars on.

Amazing sceneries, Thank you for sharing. Hopefully this summer I will be able to take my 9year old and explore Rockies on the both sides of the border.
Cheers

I love it. I pull a trailer for a living so I think it’s fun dragging it around. It will go anywhere I wanna go, including on the rocks. My biggest suggestion is if you plan on taking yours offroad, invest in the best suspension you can. I’m on my third suspension and finally got it right. It has one tonne (2200 lb) Timbren axle less suspension. Works great.

Wow!

I have been wanting to do this with my kids, drive to Utah and see the Mighty 5. My wife says we will all kill each other on the drive there. So we are considering just flying into LV and renting a Jeep and maybe visiting two parks + the Grand Canyon (or some variation thereof).

My daughter will be 13 and son will be 12 - I am running out of time with them.
