I never waxed mine on my JK I just wiped it down with Mothers Protectant.

Looked good as new after 6 years.

I never came across that.

I don't think the hard tops are prone to fade more than any other painted body parts. I cant recall ever seeing one in bad shape.

Cerakote has a product that is supposed to protect it and keep it dark black. I have not personally used it, but the videos look good

I wouldn't wax it, I don't have the black top, but isn't it like a textured plastic? Think that would be a fail.

Something like Beadmaker would help to protect it and bead water, I use it on my plastics all the time with great results.

A good long term option would be a ceramic trim coating, such as Gyeon Trim or Gtechniq C4 Trim Restorer.

These will help protect it from UV damage, make it much easier to clean, and last for a pretty good amount of time.
