Center console subwoofers

I remember TJs had a woofer in the center console and I’m curious why we don’t do that with the JTs? Are there any significant draw backs or is it just that people tend to value their console storage over a sub?

space is pretty tight in the cab and this feels like a good location if somebody could make a box for it.

If you get the Alpine Premium Audio, it comes with one mounted behind the rear seat. Alpine also has a kit with one to mount underneath the seat.

I'm not willing to give up the center console space, as limited as it is. There is plenty of room under the seats and behind the rear seats to add one.
