Class II Receiver Recovery point?

So for all of those like me who didn’t opt for a Class III or higher tow package we have the standard Class II. It is a frame mounted unit that requires a hole be drilled in the bumper and a ball be secured into the receiver. I’m thinking this would make for a decent recovery point while not towing, but I don’t know how to accomplish this. Is there a shackle setup that this can be done with similar to a receiver shackle that fits into a receiver hitch? I don’t think it would be smart simply running a strap through there as the metal edges may cut into the strap. Maybe there is a shackle big enough to go through the hole and clear the bumper? Surely someone has thought of something....

I know about the recovery point already in the rear. I’m just saying...it may be an interesting project.

Just wondering ....why not use the two tow hooks for recovery?
