Since you have your truck, you should open the driver's door and read the actual tow rating for your specific vehicle from the label. That's going to be the most accurate information available to you.Hi All!
I have an automatic Overland. The dealer and information online claims the towing capacity is 6k, without the max tow....
That said, the manual claim 4K, but doesn’t specify automatic vs manual transmission.
Which is it??
It's very unlikely that the tow rating will be on the door. What he'll find is GVWR and the front and rear GAWR. Both are related to payload, and how much weight the jeep can carry on it's wheelsSince you have your truck, you should open the driver's door and read the actual tow rating for your specific vehicle from the label. Thanks - I knew they put some specific detail on the label but forgot that it was payload rather than towing...It's very unlikely that the tow rating will be on the door. That's a great question. The Overland, being heavier, should have a slightly lower rating.Correction - Does anyone know why an Overland with automatic has a towing capacity of 6,000 lb.'s while a Sport with automatic only has a towing capacity of 4,500 lb.'s with the same rear axle ratio? Thanks!
Overland and Rubicon (and max tow) get bigger brakes.Correction - Does anyone know why an Overland with automatic has a towing capacity of 6,000 lb.'s while a Sport with automatic only has a towing capacity of 4,500 lb.'s with the same rear axle ratio? Thanks!
