I don’t really know what’s going on but I feel super cramped in my 2022 Gladiator Rubicon compared to my wife’s 2022 Wrangler High Tide….by a lot. I put the seats all the way back in both but It feels like I have a lot less room even though I heard the seats go back 1.5” further in the Gladiator…doesn’t make sense. The only thing I can think of is that the Wrangler has the cloth seats and the Gladiator has leather seats. The leather seems significantly stiffer….is it possible that the leather seats take up a lot more room or that I’m sinking into the cloth seats where I dont in the leather? Either way it’s really annoying and I’m not sure what to do about it.

The seats are all the way back and all the way down in both, and the steering wheels are all the way forward.

Interesting. I find the opposite true between our 2019 JKU and 2022 JTO. We do have leather in both though

Find one with cloth seats to sit in. If you like it, see if you can find someone that wants to switch seats.

Or buy a cloth drivers seat from a salvage place, put matching seat covers on all of them, and no one will be able to tell the difference. Yes, but can’t see pretty leather that way.

I’m a big dude (vertically and laterally ? ) and find the cloth seat’s in my JTR to be roomy.

It felt somewhat cramped when I bought it four years ago, but I had been driving a full size pickup. I'm not small, but it works for me. The biggest complaint would be my knee pushing against the 4WD shift knob, but the majority of my driving is with the cruise control so it's tolerable.

I find that my right leg touches the t-case shifter. I'm only 5'8" so I'm not tall (30" inseam) but it's just because the thing is more narrow than other vehicles we've had (save for my Eagle)
As far as leg room - my complaint about the JT or JLU is that when I have the right seat forward I still can't touch the firewall with my feet and they dangle (my wife likes to drive on long trips so I get the right seat a lot)
In the driver's seat, it's more that because it's narrow, the pedals are in the way, or the tunnel on the right. I had to install a dead pedal because my left foot could never rest and was just dangling. I've never had that problem with other vehicles.
So for me it's width, not depth. Tons of leg room forward, not so much left and right.
Still, I drove from Georgia to home almost non-stop save for gas and can't say I was all that uncomfortable.

Only complaint is the shift knob pushing into the right knee.

A dead pedal would prevent leg extension and raise the left knee.
Take the doors off.

I'm 6' ...185 ish lbs.. Mojave w/leather. I do feel like my legs are riding ON the bolsters..
Oddly It does feel more narrow than the LJ I was in previous for some reason.. though that drivers seat had 254K miles on it.

Seat jackers helped a lot with feeling like I was tipped forward, but still rare I feel "support" in terms of behind the knee. left foot is always flat on the floor.. and I have to train myself to relax it..may get a dead pedal some day.

I think the floor pan/tunnel seems more is tapered in on the right/near gas pedal.. making things feel cramped. My knee has put this vehicle in part time 4x4 inadvertently..from full time 4x4.. kinda upset me as it was rather dry out and didn't notice but was all hwy..

Side note.. does anyone feel like they're going to punch a hole in the lower left speaker grill when getting in or out of this thing! I hit that all the time..making me a lil nervous.

I sat in a wrangler at the dealer and it felt different.. It felt more cramped in terms of chest on up.. while back..and all that I recall.

My last Gladiator had cloth seats and my first and current Gladiator have leather. I am 6' 3" and really could not say I felt cloth or leather seats made me feel any different in terms of being cramped or not.

I know the few times I have let my wife drive my Gladiator, she puts the seat in what I call jokingly "Oompah Loompah" mode with the seat all the way forward, max up and steering wheel up and moved in all the way. Once I get in and adjust back to what I know is the prior settings for everything, it takes me a couple of days psychologically to not feel cramped or something is out of position even though it is not.

There may be some truth here. Having switched from a 2 door Rubicon with leather seats to a Gladiator Rubicon with leather seats, I noticed right away that the Gladiators seating position is higher from the floor up. I have no comment on the legroom though. I have also owned cloth seats, and I do agree that the leather seats are stiffer.

I’ll have to go measure this today. Maybe the Gladiator seats are higher off the floor
