Hey guys,
Was in Eu for a month and my 2020 Gladiator was dead when I got back into town.
The main battery was at 0 volts, I replaced and cranks fine but tons of lights on the dash, no backup camera, low power, engine check yada yada.
I assume I need to replace the Aux battery as well?
I did take it out and it is sitting at 11.78 volts (No load)
When I charge / replace this battery, will the lights go away or do I need to clear codes?
Thanks!!

You will most likely need to replace the aux, make sure both batteries are fully charged, and reset the IBS.

The aux was also at 0 volts. When you put the new battery in, the aux was already depleting your new battery. Batteries from the store are not at the fully charged state. So you just need to start from the beginning. Make sure you isolate the battery terminals to keep them from shorting.

Your codes and lights should be gone/off after you are finished. Did you replace your battery with an agm battery? Are you using an agm charger? It would be worth looking into getting one.

Yup, replaced both batteries and seems good to go now. I did have to reset error codes with my JScan... Interesting though, the error codes where vacuum leaks... odd. did not have errors before. Guess these things through strange error codes in low voltage situations
On a side note, is it ok to hook Gladiators up to a battery conditioner / trickle charger long term?

Don’t get a cheap one that doesn’t know when to shut off.

It is sad that the truck computer cannot figure out that the aux battery is low and throw a single trouble code for that instead of a whole parade of false messages.

If it might be helpful, here is my thread link with an option for a permanent mount using the NOCO Genius 2D that has been working very well for me:

But did you CHARGE both batteries before installation and leave the IBS off during the process - so it was disconnected in order to reset it?
If not - look for possible future problems.
Always charge new batteries before installation - and reset the IBS.
You don't want a trickle charger, you want a tender - it can properly deal with an IBS battery and keep it charged. Some "maintainers" actually only maintain the state of charge of the battery at the time the maintainer is connected so be careful.
Don't go cheap.

Sorry for the late response guys,
Replaced both batteries, reset the codes with J-Scan and all seems to be good now.
The Auto Start Stop is now functioning again (I disabled with J-Scan previously) but the speedo offset for my 35's is still correct....
But again all is good currently
Thanks for the advice

You can't really disable it with jscan. That part doesn't work and it's frankly impossible with software.

if you’re going to leave it sitting for any extended period of time, maybe even a week, get the battery tender to keep the system maintained on full charge.
This will help avoid related problems in the future and your batteries should last longer.

I've had good experience with these products for many years.

Some of the other companies not. Even highly recommend ones, I've had them flat out "kill" AGM batteries.
My LJ, 4wheelers and boat batteries are connected most of the time. Probably a reason why I've had some Optima batteries last up to 20 years or so.
