Sooo. Crap.

Went to take the truck out of the garage and it wouldn't start. Weird. Tried other key. Nothing. Tried jump start, nope.

I do not get the 'No Key Fob detected' message
Neither key will lock or unlock the doors
It does not even attempt to turn over like a slightly dead battery, but jump start did nothing either
The lights and radio and dash are all illuminated just fine like the battery in the truck is working
Both fobs give the same red confirmation flash when you hit lock or unlock
Doors are all closed
Truck gives no indication it isn't in park

It's like it just totally forgot both keys, but the weird part is I would think I would get the 'no key fob detected error when I tried to hit start but that doesn't happen either.

I have the positive terminal disconnected right now, will leave off for a half hour or even over night. Any other thoughts?

Edit, I tried the end of the key fob trick with both sets of keys No luck

You need to disconnect the negative cable from the secondary battery to get a system reboot. The ESS battery keeps the system powered up when the main battery is disconnected.

That will involve taking the fender liner out correct?

What about checking to make sure all fuses are seated in the box?

I can but I also can't imagine how a fuse would come out on its own
I was thinking the same thing, but have read this is an issue with the JL\JT’s. Others say to make sure to check to make sure they are seated.

I was thinking of easy things to try before removing the fender to get to the stupid aux battery.

Regarding your jump start.... Leave the donor vehicle running and the jumper cables attached to you positive terminals for 10 mins. while donor vehicle is running.... NOW, after the 10 min., try to start your JT.

This way of doing it is what JL owner's have found is needed to jump start a JL.
I can try that before a tow, I really don't think it's a dead main. I guess it could be a dead aux, that seems to happen and people get the 'start/stop not available', but I always just turn my start/stop off anyways so I wouldn't see that message.

have you tried touch the end of the FOB to the start button? I thought that is how you re-learn a key or start the truck with a dead FOB? Good luck. Sucks you're having to deal with this

@mtudb24

Touching the end of fob with the RFID chip will "relearn" nothing...

Touching the RFID chip to the ignition button, is what you can do if the fob battery is dead. No battery is even needed...

You can even pry out the RFID chip and press it against the ignition button with your fingers and the JL/JT will start..
Thanks for the update. I wasn't sure. Something I had heard. Now I know. And as GI JOE says, Knowing is 1/2 the battle!!! YO JOE :)

@j.o.y.ride

My guess is, if you jump it as mentioned, it will start.... Probably depleted Aux, pulled down Main. One or both batteries may be iffy.

If not call Jeep Road Service, Ph. 1-800-992-1997. Tell them you have a JT and it MUST be flat bedded to the dealer per the manual. Flat Bedded! Has to go to closest Jeep dealership if you want FCA to pay for the Flat Bed trip.
I'm guessing this. I can test tonight

Tomorrow I'm out at baseball from 8am to 5pm but keep ideas coming

I will try the 10-minute jump maybe even a 15-minute jump shortly

If it works I'll just do that again on Monday when I have time to get to the dealership and then just drive it in
