Went to a dealer looking at 2 different JT Rubicons they’ve had on their lot. I’m considering trading in my Rubicon JLU for the Rubicon JT. I told him I have 3 kids and he proceeded to tell me that the JT has a smaller back seat. Is this the case? The dimensions are pretty similar. 1 is still in a car seat and the other 2 aren’t. Their pretty comfortable in the JLU if the whole family is in it. Just thought it was a bit strange.

EDIT: Went back, dealt with a different salesperson and bought a Stingray Gray Rubicon. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase.

I thought the JT had more backseat leg room & the rest of the dimensions were the same. I could be wrong though. A JLU wasnt on my radar since the bed is a must for me.
I thought I had read somewhere that it did as well.

I can say, with out a doubt, that my 6 yo has more room in the back of the JT than he did in the JKU. Ive also rode in the back of both a JLU and my JT and though the JT had more room as well.

The JT back seat is BETTER, more room, than the back seat was in my extended cab Silverado. I can't compare to a JLU but it's better in the JT than the Grand Cherokee, IMO.

More room in the back seat in the JT than in my Grand Cherokee I traded in.

More room in the back than a Quad Cab Ram

I feel like it’s the same as a JLU

According to Jeep’s specs, they both have 38.3” of rear legroom.

This information is from www.automobile-catalog comparison chart

Second row hiproom JT 55.9" vs JLU 56.7"
First row headroom JT 40.8" vs JLU 40.7"
Second row headroom JT 40.8" vs JLU 41.7"
Calculated passenger volume JT 104.6 cu. ft. vs JLU 105.5 cu. ft.
All other interior dimensions are the same.

These numbers seem to indicate that unless you have a tape measure out, these to vehicles are nearly identical in the rear seat dimensions. I hope this helps.
