I have factory mopar ones that came on the truck. I hate them. I'm 6'5 and don't use them. Wife and kid use them and it's a pain for me to get in an out. I don't bash up against rocks due to very mild wheeling but I'd like protection also. Any recommendations on rails with steps? Prefer made in the USA also....... thanks

I have the Mopar rock slider/step and really like them. They protect the rear fenders and door hinges and work perfect as a step.

Those are good looking options.

Shrockworks really could use some better detailed photos though

Agreed.

The shrockworks rails are tighter to the body than the other two. They're just shy of feeling like a full step. I had the shrockworks on my 2007 JKU and to this day they were my favorite rails.

I desire frame mount rails that you can use for steps and tree/rock pivots and here's the list I've compiled:

Haven’t seen those VKS before, look a lot like the TNT Customs sliders I got. The shrockworks, TNT, and looks like VKS do not cover pinch seam very well if you care about such things.
The TNT and shrockworks are straight and do not fit the subtle curve of body front to rear (larger body gaps at front/rear than middle).

I like the look of this style better, but I think the Rock Hard sliders check every box if you like the look. Strong, functional, aesthetic, not crazy expensive. Can pick up or down.
They have many mounting points and I haven’t read anybody say they bent them into the body - I thought LOD was bulletproof but saw JL owner who’s destroyer steps creased their body.
Rock Hard is legit.

The fix for the pinch seam is to Line-X that lower rocker area, add sliders, and forget about it.

I have the rock hard angled down and love them. My wife liked mine so much she ordered a set for her wrangler too.
