Ordered the Decked Storage System direct from Decked the day they were available. Showed up on the freight truck today, had it installed 2 hours later. Install went smooth, almost identical to my previous Ram 2500 install. Now I have secure storage for all my scuba gear and it doesn’t clutter the camper!

Can you get to the power outlet through the ammo box on the right side?

Power outlet is inaccessible currently, thinking I maybe able to move it to the inside of the “ammo can.” It does take up most of the space in the bed and you also lose the forward corners (in the full size version you get two extra corner “ammo can boxes.” Yes, some minor inconveniences, however the system provides exactly what I need, secure storage for all my dive gear. Waiting for a fiberglass truck cap/roof rack to complete the package when ARE/LEER release one.

I dive all over the place, started in Lake Erie in western NY, was a Diver for the County Dive/Rescue Team for a few years, and now live in northern Michigan and travel to various small lakes and quarries. Usually every 6 months or so I make it to the Exumas in the Bahamas for some shark diving.

I wonder why they didn't design this thing to just go all the way to the top of the bed? That way, you really don't need a hard tonneau and you would get some more space in the drawers.

but the 5.5" of "lip" allows you to place stuff on the decked setup and they won't roll out, kinda like that other thread with the basket type cover with the swiss cheese holes in it.

My problem with the decked setup is that it only utilizes like 45% of the volume it takes up. Taking an already small bed, and making it even smaller.

My method to calculate this was as one pointed out" if you filled the bottom 12" of the bed with water, or filled the decked drawers full of water. While I know when you haul gear, its not usually just water, and can't utilize 100% of the bed volume, but still........

Glad you like it! During the install did you have to cut/drill anything or was it a straight bolt on? Also curious , how long you think it would take to pull it out?

If it suits your needs, that is all that matters.

Personally, I think they should buils an "upper deck" system that sits on top of it, adds a second layer of drawers. And then has a set of removable side boards to give you basically what you have now on top of the decked system.

I'd also like to see them buils a drop in drawer /deck system that entirely replaces the back seat.

ETA: my auto-populating spellerizer has been sucking pretty profoundly here lately, sorry. Probably "Russians". Yeah that's the ticket.

Removing the system should only take you 15-20 minutes if needed. You remove one drawer and then the tie downs. Then you remove every other screw on top of the system and remove the system in two pieces.

There are a couple of ways to access the power outlet. We recommend that you use a flat pigtail to extend power out next to the ammo can. You can stub power through the side of the ammo can, by cutting or drilling the ammo can, but we do not recommend this, as it would void the warranty on your DECKED system.

surprised a little hole with rubber plug didn't come standard through the ammo can to accomodate for this to keep warranty in tact. I can't imagine a little 1" hole would compromise the integrity of the entire deck.

As thedeckedguy said, no drilling, easy install, simple hand tools. It should only take a few minutes to pull out. I agree with the loss of bed space, however, for what I needed, that being secure storage for $2500 worth of dive gear, it fit my needs exactly. Been through the automatic car wash a few times, no leaks at all. Sorry for the late reply, been building a 40x40 pole barn and I hate carpentry
