I just got my truck back from the shop the other day with 5:13 installed from 3:73. Everything felt great on my hour long drive home. Heat cycle were already completed so I still took my time. 20 minutes before I got home I heard a whine from the rear diff. It’s constant and when you coast it sounds like it’s whining down.
I thought that was it as I was taking it back in today for him to check it out Monday when I figured I might as well try 4wd as it was raining. Sure as heck as soon as I hit 45 mph I started to hear a humming/roaring sound with vibration. I’m freaking out.
revolution gears. I’m not bashing the installer as he has a good reputation and I’m sure he will figure it out and he has been very cooperative so far.
I was really curious if anyone with knowledge on this could give a little insight? Anything will help.

I also read somewhere where some shops that are used to working on older Jeeps like jk’s think the Dana 44s are the same then as they are now on our jl and jt’s therefore they aren’t setting them up properly. Idk I’m new to this and I am pretty on edge right now. Any input will help!!!

I'm sure the installer can figures it out. The only different setting up between the JK & JL/JT is the pinion shim location. The JK has the shim between the pinion gear and bearing vs JL behind the bearing cup.

There's not going to be an easy answer. It's all part of the setup - pinion depth, and backlash, etc. So no one can say "do this and it will fix it".
The installer needs to check their work, and triple-check the pattern when done.
You will also likely need to follow the break-in on new after-market gears to get them burnished and hardened.

Factory gears don't need that, it's already done - aftermarket, be sure to follow their directions.

Thanks I was just getting some opinions. I knew I wouldn’t get “the fix”. Just trying to get a few ideas. I appreciate the help though!
