yes i believe they are. If you can give me exact part numbers and application i can check my book.

are you running a straight 2 wire application or are you trying to do 3 wire with a data/dimming line?

Edit: usually deutsch connector bodies wont allow inappropriate connections to fit. 3 wire data dimming is usually triangular. Ive never seen the top image, i almost think that black block in there is an image artifact That isnt really there But i want to look first.

I'm not 100% positive as I never use Deutsch where another option works but I believe that's how Deutsch connectors are indexed to only allow specific mating. The left connector will fit into the male slot for the right side connector but not vice versa as the one on the right is missing the hole for the peg that will be in the other male side.

I’m just doing a two wire. The top image is from all the extensions I have found on the web. They are called DTP and the bottom is what I have (the harness that came with the lights). I don’t see any part numbers.

Oh I was going off what I saw in the quoted post so left = top and right = bottom. DT/AT are the same connectors (the latter sold by Amphenol) as are DTP and ATP so you can get compatible connectors without paying Deutsch prices.

Maybe a better question would be what you're trying to plug it in to? Also do you have a 3/4 shot that shoes the clip on the one you have? If my memory serves me, that's the easiest way to tell DT and DTP apart.

They are compatible. The bottom one has the key in it for two wire data wires, like flexray. It is to keep you from plugging power into data. If you have a plain ole plug it works fine I have a good stash of them as this is what I use on all my projects.

I've used both female connectors as you've shown, and I have not noticed a difference in the male end. For the ones I've used, the male ends were universal (same). I'm not sure what the purpose of the weird opening in the insert is. It may be for a special tool to remove the insert. I never bothered researching it, as they've all fit into the male connectors. I have connectors from a couple different manufacturers, and some hold looser tolerances, but they all appear to be universal.

Looks like @DAVECS1 answered the question about the opening on the first one (top or left).
