I've been sitting on mine for over a year now, too lazy or presumptuous about who would buy them. 0 miles on 5 tires, 4 of the silver wheels and 1 steel spare. I'm curious to find out who has sold theirs, did they end up selling wheels separate from tires? How low did you go to get rid of them?

My gut says, remove the tires, it'll be easier to sell those to anyone that just needs some new tires for cheap, then sell the wheels either 1 at a time for folks wanting a matching spare, or as a set of 4 silver for anyone that likes the look.

What did you do? How long did it take to sell? Where did you list it?

Thanks

Couldn’t sell or even give away. I’m in the Phoenix area and they are a dime a dozen. Ended up putting a 37” tire on one and use it as my spare. The other 3 are in the garage.

I sold my original Overland tires to a guy who was selling his Toyota truck and needed some better tires to put on it to make it easier to sell.

Don't try to sell the tires to other Jeep people, find other vehicles that use the same size tires and target that audience.
If you want to sell wheels - sell to someone who wants a matching spare wheel.

400$ for the 5 tires. Kept the stock rims. Just sold the spare steel rim today. On the other hand bought 4 Rubicon take off tires for 600$ and one Rubicon Wildpeak MT with Rubicon rim and TPMS for 200$. I think I did pretty good. MT was brand new too.

It will make it easier to sell them if they have the TPMS as well. Sold my new take-off JTM wheels/tires on Craigslist a couple of days after I took delivery. However, when I sell stuff this way, I meet up with buyers at a daytime neutral location away from my home. If available, bank parking lots are a good choice as they have LOTS of cameras.

Marketplace is another good place to sell but you must have a Facebook account. I would apply the same protocol as stated above.

Price them around $400 for the works. Let someone else pay to dismount them if they just want the tires. It may take some time but they'll eventually go.

I'd agree - back in 2020. But, if I was selling the wheels and tires from my current JT, no one with a 2022 or later 2021 could use the TPMS....... or am I wrong?
Was there not a running change in the 2021 model year?
My gut says agree because it's a little thing that can make it very convenient for the buyer, but Jeep threw in a curve ball.
I'm in a situation with my current JTO if I trade it, I'd love to just keep the wheels and tires I have and move them straight over to a new truck, but I can't. TPMS..........
Unless that was only for Rubicon??????

I'm not sure I follow what you're saying. Are you suggesting that there is no longer any tire pressure measurement system in Gladiators? That doesn't seem right, every car I see has tire pressure anymore... I'd think TPMS is as valuable as ever.

I only swapped tires to 33’s and steel spare wheel/tire for a matching black alloy. The local shop that I bought tires from gave me $200 for the 4 tires with 5,000 miles on them and the spare combo that was never used. Saved me time and effort trying to sell them.

I have been using the local shop for years and they are fair when if comes to trading tires.

That is true. First design TPMS was changed to a second design in June of 2021. The part numbers do differ. So essentially the 2021 model years could have either design.

Jeep changed the TPMS system being used in June 2021. The sensors are not compatible between the two systems.

I had the optional black alloys and they sold for $650, which I thought was a fair price given the other listings I saw at the time. Also got a good deal on some takeoffs so I was only out ~$200 for a set of bigger and more aggressive looking wheels/tires. My old listing is still on here if you want to see the specifics.

They changed the electronics and sensors as Mr_Bill said.

TPMS is actually mandatory. Federal law. And if a shop gets a vehicle in with a working TPMS and sends it out not working, technically they have broken federal law that says "shall not cause......." to not function.
I believe it is also mandatory in the EU.

To elaborate a bit further, TPMS systems are still used. If you do sell your new take-off wheels/tires/TMPS set up, make interested buyers aware of the part number change mid-year 2021. It all depends on the year and when it was built.

When I sold my 2022 JTM set up, I knew that I had the second design TPMS (being a 2022).
The guy that bought mine went on his 2022 Sport. They worked perfectly. Keep in mind, the early design and the late design part numbers are not interchangeable.

So, if your JT is a 2021 model year, look in the driver door jamb to see the build date. If it is before June 2021, you likely have the first design TPMS. Those will only work with pre-June 2021 builds.

I plan on selling mine. Still debating on whether I separate the tires from the rims. It seems to me that there is a larger market for separate tires as those are common sized and can be used on multiple vehicles.
