I am hoping for some good lift options for the JT diesel. I thought I could do my part to hopefully help calculate some spring rates to jump start the process by running my truck across a certified scale.

Edit: updated weights and specs no driver:
Front Axle = 2960 lbs
Rear Axle = 2540 lbs
Vehicle weight = 5500 lbs
Weight with driver and 2 labradors 5900 lbs

vehicle specs:
Topped off fuel and def tank then 13 miles drive to scale.
Fully loaded Rubicon Diesel minus advanced safety, adaptive cruise, and front steel bumper. Factory mud terrain tire option.
For completeness I have installed: Bestop roll up tonneau cover, hot heads headliner installed. Tazer mini and Banks pedal Monster, redline gas strut hood struts.

Front Axle = 3140 lbs
Rear Axle = 2660 lbs
Vehicle weight = 5800 lbs
Dumb question, is that what your sticker shows? Is the 5800 include you or not? Have a JTRD coming soon!

Is that a stock truck? Hopefully that figure is with you in it. Even still that's more than my crew cab four-wheel drive EcoDiesel Ram 1500 with mud tires weighs. Insane.

All of the unknowns are one of the reasons I went with coilovers for my JTRD. I can get it all dialed in to what I want rather than just installing it and getting what I get.

What brand did you go with?

Includes me but I had the hardtop off. I may top off the fuel and def tanks and weigh again today with top on, no driver. No steel front bumper, do have the bestop tonneau cover on.

Ah ok. What does your sticker say for total weight?

I went with the EVO JT Pro suspension kit. That way the dealer that is installing it before I pick it up can put it all together and get it dialed in.

I updated original post with specs. Window sticker shows nothing. Here are the door stickers:

5,473 lbs. That's within 75 lbs. of what my crew cab, off road package, towing package, loaded up Ram 1500 EcoDiesel weighs. It's astonishing how heavy these Jeeps are for their size.

There are now at least 3 or 4 different GVWR figures they're using for the JT. Clearly they can stamp whatever rating they want on it. Which still begs the question... why not go up enough with GVWR that you can offer a usable payload rating on the Gladiator? Less than 1000 lbs is just terrible... Especially if you camp, overland, or boat.

Ill say I have had Chevy and Ford 1/2 tons with ungodly factory weight ratings from the older standards. Loading them up at 50% of the rating was dangerous and caused the pickup to wander especially at highway speed. I think current weight ratings are an evolution of the past over ratings. Just because you can load it heavy doesn’t mean it was safe to drive. I will load my boat or other toys behind my jeep know it will work to the ratings.

Heck my '17 f150 super crew w/ the 3.5EB, heavy 35" MT tires, 20" aftermarket wheels, 6" lift components, max tow package, trifold hard tonneau cover & 36 gallons of a full gas tank weighs 5700lbs. And what the JT diesel has a 18.3 gal diesel tank + 5 gallons of def, I'm still 13 more gallons (that's 91 lbs right there in extra fuel weight).

I went the high end with a Stage 7 Icon. I was thinking about it the other day and Jeep should make a max tow package with rear Leaf Springs for those overlanding and wanting to really tow. Coils are great for ride quality, desert, and sand. But it's 2020 and leaf springs can flex almost as good as coils.
