So my key fell out of my pocket at the PO Box.
Attached to my Warn winch strap it was caught by the seat.
Running with my dog inside I took a hammer to the LR vent glass.
Manual locks so no remote open from Jeep Wave.
Found out part number 68271659AF is on serious back order and not even available anywhere in the US.
They are all being used to build new Gladiators.
Used doors from the Junk yards are $1500-$2000.
Should have called a locksmith 😩

That's actually really common with vent glass.

The issue is that it's such a small piece of glass that it's hardly ever broken so there is almost no demand. Thus, no real need for aftermarket replacements. The lack of demand for aftermarket replacement almost always means OEM is the only route, and when there is one supplier who sees no need to have extras sitting on the shelf... you pay what they ask and they need them for production... AKA you're fucked.

Ouch.

Yes, waiting for the locksmith/tow truck is worth it. I locked myself out on a trip and called AAA. He had it unlocked in minutes using a series of wedges on the driver door. Only damage was a very minor nick in the weather seal. The door flexed enough to not even scratch the paint. One plus for those aluminum doors.

Went out and got a lock box and extra key the next week. Now I never have to worry about it.

My IPad was inside the Jeep or I would have researched which window to break. Windshield of front door were out of the question because of the dog there.
