I'm not 100% certain, but thought I'd read or heard something about disconnecting the strap and rotating it either 180* or 360* and reconnecting it. The tension of this twist makes the strap press back towards the door when it is closed?

Perhaps others can chime in on the above...

I've noticed this too. Have kinda gotten used to it, but still don't like it. Best I've been able to do is sort of push it back with my leg. Anyone tried the twist mentioned above?

My JK did that. It either stopped doing it, or I don't notice it anymore... maybe a little of both. I seem to recall working it back and forth a bit with my hands to loosen it up when new, and also push it down so the slack sags down instead of pushing towared your leg. Being brand new, it should soften up a bit over time.

[Edit] after looking at my JK yesterday, noticed the flex point on the strap is pushed forward, not in the middle of the "U" bend created by the strap with the door closed. Probably from my leg continuously pushing it forward. You could "encourage" the bend point to be further forward by flexing it there a bit with your hands and that should get it out of the way of your leg.

I noticed it at first, but after 800 miles, it doesn't bother me anymore.
