Hey everyone,
My local overland shop here in Denver, CO (Juniper Overland) just finished the first DC-DC dual battery system under the hood of my 2020 JTR. It far exceeded my expectations in terms of simplicity and wiring cleanliness. They also installed a slick little Blue Sea 4 circuit power block on the front of the battery hold down plate to provide constant (fused) power to my 12V and hot accessories in the bed. I'm running a 35W hood solar as well as a grill mounted Zamp plug for additional flexible/blanket solar. Finally confident to keep the fridge and other devices powered up for consecutive days at camp without starting the truck. Hope others can replicate this setup for their needs :)

Thanks! I'm using Fullriver Full Throttle FT750-25 batteries and the rest is custom from the shop. Yes, both OEM batteries are removed with this system but the positive lead from the OEM aux battery is still used to maintain it's function.

Where did you buy the 35w panel? I can only find the 50w on their site.

Contemplating getting their kit for a simple install, but also not sure if the controller is the best option.

Nice job, only thing I would be uncomfortable about is that positive battery terminal on front, it is exposed and surrounded by grounded metal, they installed the bolt oposite of the ground terminal as they were aware it is close, just needs a red boot over it, dropping a tool on that or if it get loose and spins a bit would be a drag. This is something I want to do also, thanks for posting!.....jack

Hmmm, I got it directly off the Lensun site but I too only see the 50W now. I'd reach out to them as they are always very responsive.

Hi there,
If you are asking about links to a purchase kit unfortunately this is only a custom "in-shop" install at Juniper Overland. The guys told me that they might make it an online purchase down the road but not anytime soon.

Thanks! I agree with you completely... but it's so pretty without a boot :) I'm headed to Amazon right now to find something. Typically I know the shop tries to always put the negative terminal on the fender side for dual battery installs (i.e. non-side by side setups) but it's difficult to do on this one. I believe a group 35 is the exact same thing as group 25 but just with reversed terminals. I guess you could do a 25/35 combo to keep the negative terminals on the fender side? Not sure how clean the wiring would look in this configuration though. I hope you get to do something similar! John

Hey everyone, here's a little extra credit to the dual battery setup... Juniper Overland installed a Zamp SAE outlet to the front grill and wired it into the Redarc BCDC solar input along with the hood mounted Lensun 35W panel. I picked up a Lensun 120W waterproof flexible panel to really add some extra juice to the aux battery.

How are the solor panels wired to work together. Wondering how best to have ready for portable panels...like the plug in the grill
