E88 Unleaded Fuel?

We keep seeing E88 gasoline popping up on gas station signs at significantly lower prices than E87. Is it safe to use in 3.6 Jeep engines ?

In Virginia Sheetz sells it. It’s a higher ethanol blend that is lower than Flex fuel. I ran it a month or so ago on a trip and averaged about 27 mpg. But I have not tried it in multiple back to back tanks. My Jeep ran good on it.

Almost every gas station in Wisconsin has 88 gas, which is 15% ethanol. It might be a regional difference.

It was 2.49 gallon in the Richmond area of VA last time I got it.

My Suburban has an e85 flex fuel designation. the e85 means the ethanol mix is anywhere from 51-83% of the fuel mixture. On a road trip about 5 years ago I put the e85 in for one tank. My mpg dropped from 19 down 13. I've never used it since.

I was gonna say things have changed a lot since I lived up there. It was usually a little cheaper than Florida.

E85 will give you a about 27% less mpg. If it's at least 27% cheaper than gas and your engine can run it, go for it, it'll save you money. Usually it's only like 25% cheaper or less so it's not worth it.
