Hi, Gang!

Happily took delivery of my 2021 JTRD a few days ago. My build sheet does show the 'Engine Block Heater' option ($95). For the life of me, I cannot find the plug. I think the factory pigtail should be sticking out of the front grill, like on my Ford F450 Power Stroke. Anyone else have this option, and can maybe point me in the right direction? Could my dealer have forgoten to install it? Service is closed today (Sunday), so I was hoping maybe someone on the forum here knows! Thanks!

It comes on every diesel but doesn’t necessarily include the wiring part.

The plug is passenger side, on the other side of the upper shock mount. A little orangey-red cover.

Mine is just left of the fuse box coiled up with a black cover. Pic attached.

Thank you so much for kindly answering my question, and so quickly! Your pic is definitely worth 1,000 words! I found it instantly. It looks like it will be easiest to simply route the pigtail underneath the hood, right above the passenger fender. Looks to be enough of a gap there, even with the hood closed and latched. No need to route the power cord through the front grill, like in the good ol’ days. ??ā€ā™‚

'22 JTD's do not have a block heater. If you look on the right side. Just to the rear of the tire. Behind the fender liner. You can see a brass plug. That it where the heater would have been.

What kind of madness is this? I incorrectly assumed since it wasn't listed as an option it would be included on my 2022 JTRD. I looked and saw a big hollow brass insert. Came to the forum and saw the above post. Great Jeep, thanks for nothing.

Isn’t that a bummer. I was looking for the orange plug on mine and couldn’t find it. Well that explains it.

I realize this is old, but for 22 and newer, its an option and NOT included.

It wasn’t even an ā€œoptionā€ when we ordered our 2022 in January of 2022. 2023 far out order placed on day of release and wasn’t an option then either.

2021 and early 2022’s got lucky :)

I was an early 22, I could of sworn I added it as an option, but it's not on the build sheet.. so I need to take an actual look and see. I hear they dropped the option later due to shortages... but if you have a 22/23 and need a heater, atleast the newer version is easier to install without loosing coolant... so that's a plus.
