Hi everyone,
I know not many of us have the EcoDiesel engine in our Jeeps, but for those who do, I'm planning to install a Mojave or 392 Mopar hood on my Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel. Since the intake on the EcoDiesel is located on the right side of the engine bay, similar to the Jeep Wrangler 392 with the Hemi V8, I was wondering how difficult it would be to install an air intake from a Jeep Wrangler 392 and guide it to the EcoDiesel engine intake location and make it functional with the OEM Jeep Wrangler 392 hydro guide system. I assume I could remove the engine cover plastic if needed. It seems like it might be doable, but how to go about it? And is it worth it?
Another option would be to consider not using the hydro guide system from the Jeep Wrangler 392 and simply installing an open-air grill in the Mojave/392 hood thus allowing more airflow and cooling. However, would that be a bad idea due to snow, rain, or dust getting under the hood? What do you guys think?
The hood is for sale and is becoming more and more affordable. Here is a link to a listing:
