Absolutely in this situation the final would solve the issue, but your industrial equipment doesn't have an 8 speed gear box in between the motor and the load to fine tune things?
Many had a cvt. Not what you find in a Subaru lol. Some just range gears some belts and pulleys. It depends on the machine. Anything you can do to lesson the final drive load will lesson the load on the primary drive.
I’m not saying that gears is the best option for cooling in our case. Just that it has an effect on load.
i am toying with the idea of buying an extra oil pan and making a closed loop cooling system. It would not take much to make it happen. Drill and tap or braze a bung into the pan run some stainless braided line to a remote cooler and a remote circulation pump with either a thermocouple or a toggle switch. This whole setup can be bench tested prior to installing. By cooling the sump you effectively cool all the oil and everything it touches. Hell ya can even add a low micron in-line filter?? Oil pumps from the sump through a filter then a cooler then cool clean oil returns to the sump. Will it void warranty? Yea probably if you take it in with all that jazz on there but I can promise the oil temp will drop!

For reference this is the sort of stuff I used to rebuild. I was a lv 1 master tech. Did everything from plc work to total machine rebuilds.

Personally I think they all should have come with 410s not a huge difference but I bet it would run cooler
Or at least 410s should have been included in the tow package
I've decided to go with 4.56 gearing with my 35s. MPG will suffer a but but at this point my diesels only averaging 13.9 so it's not a big deal

In my humble opinion you would be wasting money to regear to 4.56:1 final drive. There is something else wrong with your engine as you are the only member that has shown such terrible fuel mileage. Spend that money on a rental and give your dealer the opportunity to diagnose what is going wrong.
The only reason you should have a sustained fuel mileage like that would be with always towing something and heavy payload.

I only get 14 miles to the gallon and 10 if I'm towing. But I'm also on 40" tires with a lot of gear

I'm towing a 5200 pound camper behind my Gladiator right now and I'm frequently hitting 260ďľź on oil temperature and 240 on coolant temp.

I don't really seem to have derating issues but I don't tow heavy or run full boost for long periods of time. I feel the heat venting out when parked.

I also removed my engine cover and foam chunks.

It's a free mod so I figured what the hell

Anyone tried methanol injection yet on a JT? Curious if using a Snow or AEM kit even with a smaller 250mm nozzle would get you just enough water in there to cool it down. Not looking for tuner HP, but a cooling solution.

egts may be a culprit but high oil temps are definitely happening. I’ve not had a derate myself but have seen oil as high as 250+ I’ve decided that regardless of derate or Lack of derate I will be adding the bypass filter and I will also be adding a cooler. Likely one with a thermocouple and fan. I’m eyeballing this one

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/der-13740
With the insane diesel bypass
It’ll come on at 200 and off at 180
Will likely put on a switch as well so I can leave it off while not towing
Might do a regear as well down the line if I need to
has anyone run the lorenzos oil in the 3.0 ?? Is it even compatible??

I got the single fan one but couldn't find a place to put it. I'm curious where you put yours.

I have not done the mods yet as it’s currently snowing and 1 degree outside lol. I am looking at mounting down low in the front behind the bumper perhaps on the high end of the air damn/ plastic “skid”
I don’t off road my jeep mostly cuz in my area there are zero jeep trails. so Long as it’s protected from road debris it’ll be fine.
When the weather gets better I’ll be looking more closely at it. Also nothing says it has to be in the bay. Can run a line to it mounted all the way in the back if need be! On the bottom of the bed would be my choice if I was getting into the rock crawler side of things… might go there anyway!

That's my thought right now. I'm thinking I could mount it flat under the bed. Run the hoses high along the frame. But, before I go test far I really would like to see someone do an active cooler with a high volume pump.

I’ve also looked at that option would need to suck from the pan. Pump through the cooler and then use the cap from the bypass kit to return the oil.
I’m finding that method problematic due to tapping the pan. Other option would be to remove the plug then put a T in place of the plug. Just have to sort out the thread of the adapter “pan side, oil circulation pump side and then a cap on side three.” If I can see 15 degrees of temp drop with the bypass method and the remote cooler then that will be enough for me. If I’m still in the 230+ range with all that then I’ll build an active cooling closed loop system and will post up what i use to build said kit. Probably will not do anything till spring cuz I have no garage
