Hey all,
So I have the 21-JTR, daughter has the 22-JL Overland
I couple of months ago we had both hoods opened in the driveway, it was screamingly obvious that the JT had an engine cover and the JL did not
Assuming it was left of when the dealership did the last service, we called them up, they said they had pone in the workshop and next time we were coming in they could chuck it on. So when we dropped it in they advised it didn't fit and they would have to order a replacement as it was their fault.
A few weeks on and they called, the engine cover is in so I dropped in this morning
Of course this one doesn't fit either
After some "polite" to and fro they check the VIN number and advise that this vehicle never had one from factory, and doesn't have the brackets on the manifold for one. And then try to convince me that randomly some of them just don't have the engine covers.
I challenged this and the dealer has raised a case with Jeep Australia to confirm if there is a data mix up or in fact the vehicle never got one off the assembly line.
Being an overseas model I know it could be different
But has anyone else heard of this ?
Do you all have engine covers ?
We checked another JL in the dealers sale yard and , dam , that bloody JL didn't have one either
So I expect a response from the case with Jeep Australia Monday /Tuesday, trying to work out whether I argue this further with the dealer
and of course you get a pic of the two cars, (always end a post with a photo lol)
Cheers
