I hate this to be my first post but i bought a 2020 sport s max tow back in January.I bought off the lot didn't want power windows and heated seat seat stuff but everything else was just right.started getting a ticking noise at about 1800 to 3000 rpm could only hear it with doors off or windows down.Brought it to dealer on monday and they said the oil filter had alot of metal in it and ordered me a new engine.I'm going to give it a the good fight to keep it.Its my 7th Jeep and it has been the most fun and useful one yet!:involve:

Wow. Sorry to hear. Hope the dealer takes good care of you. I had an issue with my rear axle early on and the dealer gave me a nice grand Cherokee for about 3 weeks while repairing. All has been good since.

Wow,a whole new engine!? That’s intense.Makes sense though. Im happy for you they didnt try to fix the symptom and went right to fixing the illness.

It is a jeep. They are designed to be serviced. I have boosted my engine and it will not bother me too much if I have to slip a new 3.6L between the rails they were made as a commodity.

Might have had a bad batch of motors.i didn't think mine was bad but the new replacement motor is alot smoother and quicker to rev.i was probably close to blowing it up reading that thread.funny thing is 2 days before i finally brought it in for that noise i was on a Jeep run deep in the Adirondacks
