Why hasn’t jeep put an extreme package on the gladiator ? I think they are missing out on an opportunity. How about a functional package instead of an appearance package

I love that you bring this up. I have been wanting something like this for a long long long time. On my 3rd Gladiator now!! These are low hanging fruit and they have all these supplies just siting around. Hopefully that JPP hubs can be utilize for something like this.

For me the perfect base would be an upgraded Max Tow package that can include a few more extra pounds of payload and a bump in towing with factory 4:56 gears, 4WD Auto function, Spray in bed liner and a trailer tow controller. It would be nice if we got a Ram tuned V6 Engine 305/310 HP and 270/280LBS of Toque to start with!! Like i stated before i would even take the "E-Torque" Enhancements. No thanks on the 4XE thou

All the add-on packages would be the following:

1. Xtreme package
  • 35: This is the most prominent feature, significantly improving traction and ground clearance.
  • 17-inch by 8-inch Beadlock-Capable Wheels: These wheels allow for lower tire pressures off-road without the tire losing its seal, providing even more grip.
  • 1.5-inch Factory Suspension Lift with Uniquely Tuned Shocks: This lift further increases ground clearance and allows for better articulation over obstacles.
  • 4.56:1 Axle Ratio: This lower gearing provides more torque to the wheels, improving crawling ability over challenging terrain..
  • Improved Off-Road Geometry:The package significantly enhances approach, breakover, and departure angles, as well as water fording capability.
Fender flares extensions is a must. With optional Mud flaps
Factory 4:88 & 5:13 gearing options

2. Performance Package: Name it Mopar JPP package
Mopar 2-inch lift kit (cancel out the recon 1.5 inch lift)
Mopar Exhaust System (Cat-Back) Black or Chrome tips
Mopar Cold Air Intake
Mopar Performance Grill and not just the willy's satin grill
Mopar Performance window whippers
The New Mopar Grab Handles for post 2024 builds.

Extra equipment would be
Billstien or Fox Steering Stabilizers
Mopar performance Snorkel
Factory 4:88 & 5:13 gearing options

3. The Steel Bumper Group Name it JPP package +++ lol
Mopar winch capable performance bumper
Mopar Steel Rear Bumper
Mopar Cab Rails with optional heavy duty rails with step assist
Mopar Bed rails/Step assist

Optional equipment will be grill guard, Triple hoop grill guard (I love this guard on the 392) and that grill from the sideburn concept a few years ago.
Optional Factory Warn Winch- This option is a natural fit for all these packages.

**Other enhancements would be sports bars and/or full-size bed roll bar that can integrate with bed covers. See the cobra roll bar from overseas for reference.**
**Give us the amor lite flooring system**
** Give us a spair tire reloaction kit that can be attached to hicth and not kill the bed space.** See Go-Rino and Rugged Ridge Wing mate rear bumper for reference

Make it available to sports S and Willy's not just Rubicon or Mojave XXXXX +++ Trim lol

To me these items would provide real functional equipment and not just basic LED, Safety Packages optional functions the manufactures thinks we are just happy with.

They give us all these concepts items and produce nothing.

This Gladiator would cost $100K based on the way Jeep overinflates their products.

Here is potential cost breakdown( Used AI for results)

Okay, starting with a Jeep Gladiator Sport as the base significantly changes the price and how you'd achieve your desired build. The Sport trim is the entry-level, meaning it will require many more aftermarket additions and factory options to get to your ultimate vision, as it lacks many of the Rubicon's inherent off-road capabilities and premium features.

Here's a detailed price breakdown, assuming a 2025 Jeep Gladiator Sport S 4x4 as a more realistic starting point for a modded Sport (as Sport S often allows for more options than the base Sport).

  • Estimated Base MSRP (2025 Jeep Gladiator Sport S 4x4):
    • Roughly $41,600 - $44,000 (2025 pricing is still an estimate, and actual transaction prices vary).
Breakdown of Your Desired Enhancements (Gladiator Sport S Specific):

I. Base Enhancements (Closest Factory/Mopar Options):

  • Upgraded Max Tow Package (Gladiator Sport S):
    • The Gladiator Sport S can be optioned with the Max Tow Package (includes 4.10 axle ratio, Class IV hitch receiver, heavy-duty engine cooling, 240-amp alternator, wider fender flares). This is essential for your towing and payload goals.
      • Estimated Cost (Factory Option): $2,000 - $2,500 (This package is a significant upcharge on Sport S).
    • Payload/Towing Bump: Max Tow provides the best factory figures. Further improvements are aftermarket.
    • Factory 4.56 Gears: Not a factory option on Sport/Sport S. This would be an aftermarket re-gear.
      • Estimated Cost (Aftermarket Re-gear, Parts & Labor for front/rear axle, incl. master install kits): $3,000 - $5,000 (Sport S typically has Dana 44 front and rear, but without lockers, which affects the re-gear kit components).
    • 4WD Auto Function: This is not standard on Sport/Sport S. It's usually part of a higher-trim transfer case. To get 4WD Auto, you'd need an aftermarket transfer case swap, which is very complex and expensive, or live without it. For this estimate, I'll assume you'd forego 4WD Auto or accept a significant cost for a custom transfer case swap (not included in this breakdown due to complexity/cost).
    • Spray-in Bedliner:Factory option.
      • Estimated Cost: $500 - $600
    • Trailer Tow Controller (Integrated):Factory option, often part of the Max Tow Package or a separate "Trailer Tow Group."
      • Estimated Cost: $300 - $400 (if not part of Max Tow).
    • Ram Tuned V6 (305/310 HP, 270/280 lb-ft Torque) with eTorque:
      • Gladiator V6 is 285 HP/260 lb-ft. "eTorque" is notavailable on Gladiator's 3.6L V6.

      • Closest Option:Aftermarket ECU Tune for the 3.6L Pentastar V6. This is not factory. Gains are typically ~15 HP/15 lb-ft.
        • Estimated Cost (Tune): $500 - $1,000 (plus unlocking PCM, if required).
II. "Xtreme Package 35" (Aftermarket for Sport S):

  • Xtreme Recon 35 Package: This is NOT available as a factory option on the Sport S trim. You'd have to build this entirely with aftermarket parts.
    • 35-inch Tires (Requires Lift):
      • Estimated Cost (5x 35-inch All-Terrain/Mud-Terrain Tires): $1,800 - $2,500
    • 17-inch by 8-inch Beadlock-Capable Wheels:
      • Estimated Cost (5x Aftermarket or Mopar Beadlock-Capable Wheels): $2,500 - $3,500
    • 1.5-inch Factory Suspension Lift with Uniquely Tuned Shocks:This would be an aftermarket lift kit for the Sport S.
      • Estimated Cost (Parts Only, e.g., Bilstein 5100s for modest lift, or entry-level Mopar lift): $800 - $1,500
      • Installation Labor: $600 - $1,000
    • 4.56:1 Axle Ratio: (Already covered above as an aftermarket re-gear).
    • Fender Flare Extensions:Sport S comes with basic flares. You'd need wider aftermarket flares or Rubicon take-offs.
      • Estimated Cost (Aftermarket/Mopar wider flares): $400 - $800
      • Installation Labor: $200 - $400
    • Optional Mud Flaps:
      • Estimated Cost (Mopar or Aftermarket): $100 - $250
    • Factory 4.88 & 5.13 Gearing Options:Not factory on Sport S. These would be aftermarket gear swaps.
      • Cost per gear swap (Parts & Labor, if different from 4.56): $3,000 - $5,000 (each time you change ratios).
III. "Performance Package: Mopar JPP package" (Individual Mopar Parts & Aftermarket):

  • Mopar 2-inch Lift Kit (replaces 1.5-inch):This would be an aftermarket install.
    • Estimated Cost (Mopar 2-inch Lift Kit with Fox Shocks): $1,700 - $2,500 (Parts only)
    • Installation Labor: $800 - $1,500
  • Mopar Exhaust System (Cat-Back):
    • Estimated Cost: $900 - $1,500
    • Installation Labor: $200 - $400
  • Mopar Cold Air Intake:
    • Estimated Cost: $400 - $600
    • Installation Labor: $100 - $200
  • Mopar Performance Grill:
    • Estimated Cost: $700 - $1,200 (Mopar or aftermarket options).
    • Installation Labor: $100 - $300
  • Mopar Performance Window Wipers:
    • Estimated Cost: $50 - $100
  • New Mopar Grab Handles for post 2024 builds:
    • Estimated Cost (Mopar): $150 - $300
    • Installation Labor: Minimal
  • Bilstein or Fox Steering Stabilizers:
    • Estimated Cost (Parts): $150 - $350
    • Installation Labor: $100 - $200
  • Mopar Performance Snorkel:
    • Estimated Cost: $500 - $800
    • Installation Labor: $300 - $600
  • Factory 4.88 & 5.13 Gearing Options: (Covered above as aftermarket options).
IV. "The Steel Bumper Group JPP package +++" (Individual Mopar/Aftermarket Parts):

  • Mopar Winch Capable Performance Bumper (Front):
    • This is a factory option on higher trims, but for Sport S, it's either an individual Mopar part or aftermarket.
    • Estimated Cost (Mopar Steel Bumper, parts only): $1,200 - $2,000
    • Installation Labor: $400 - $800
  • Mopar Steel Rear Bumper:
    • Estimated Cost (Mopar Steel Rear Bumper, parts only): $800 - $1,500
    • Installation Labor: $300 - $600
  • Mopar Cab Rails with optional heavy duty rails with step assist (Rock Sliders):
    • Sport S does not come with rock rails.
    • Estimated Cost (Mopar or Aftermarket Rock Sliders with Steps): $700 - $1,500
    • Installation Labor: $200 - $500
  • Mopar Bed Rails/Step Assist:
    • Estimated Cost (Mopar Bed Rails/Side Steps): $300 - $600
    • Installation Labor: $100 - $200
  • Optional Grill Guard, Triple Hoop Grill Guard:
    • Estimated Cost (Accessory for steel bumper): $300 - $800
  • Optional Factory Warn Winch:
    • This is generally a factory option with the steel bumper on Rubicon/Mojave. For Sport S, you'd buy the winch separately.
    • Estimated Cost (Warn Zeon 10-S or similar): $1,200 - $2,000
    • Installation Labor (to bumper): $200 - $400
V. Other Enhancements (Custom/Aftermarket Solutions for Gladiator):

    • Aftermarket.
    • Estimated Cost (Parts only): $800 - $2,500

Here is a summary of a Rubicon build and a Sport S build

Here's a summary of the estimated costs for your custom Jeep Gladiator build, broken down by starting trim:

Option 1: Starting with a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon (More Factory Options)
This option takes advantage of the Rubicon's inherent off-road capabilities and factory options, which tend to be more integrated and potentially less expensive than aftermarket equivalents for some features.

  • Estimated Base MSRP (2025 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon): $55,000 - $60,000
  • Factory Options (Max Tow, Xtreme Recon, Steel Bumper, 4.56/4.88 gears, Trailer Brake, Spray-in liner, Factory Winch): $8,500 - $12,500
  • Aftermarket/Mopar Parts & Installation (Your Additional Wish List):
    • Engine Tune: $500 - $1,000
    • Aftermarket Gear Swap (if going to 5.13): $2,500 - $4,000
    • Mopar 2-inch Lift (replacing 1.5" Recon): $2,500 - $4,000
    • Performance (Exhaust, Intake, Snorkel, Steering Stabilizer): $1,900 - $3,400
    • Exterior Styling/Protection (Performance Grill, Mud Flaps, Upgraded Rock Rails, Bed Rails, Grill Guard): $2,000 - $5,000
    • Interior/Utility (Grab Handles, Armor Flooring, Bed Roll Bar, Tire Carrier): $3,000 - $6,500
Estimated Total Cost Range (Rubicon Base): $76,000 - $100,000+

Option 2: Starting with a Jeep Gladiator Sport S (More Aftermarket Reliance)
Starting with the Sport S means you'll be adding many off-road features and premium components that are not standard or factory options on this trim, leading to higher overall aftermarket parts and labor costs.

  • Estimated Base MSRP (2025 Jeep Gladiator Sport S 4x4): $41,600 - $44,000
  • Essential Factory Options (Max Tow, Spray-in liner, Trailer Brake): $2,800 - $3,500
  • Aftermarket/Mopar Parts & Installation (Your Extensive Wish List):
    • Powertrain/Driveline (Aftermarket Gears, Tune): $3,500 - $6,000
    • Wheels & Tires (5x 35-inch & Beadlock-capable wheels): $4,300 - $6,000
    • Suspension/Lift (2-inch lift, steering stabilizer): $2,900 - $5,000
    • Exterior Protection/Styling (Flares, Mud Flaps, Bumpers, Rock Rails, Bed Rails, Grill, Snorkel): $7,000 - $13,500
    • Performance (Exhaust, Intake): $1,500 - $2,700
    • Interior/Utility (Grab Handles, Armor Flooring, Winch, Roll Bar, Tire Carrier): $5,300 - $10,000+
    • (Note: This does NOT include the significant cost of an aftermarket 4WD Auto transfer case if that's a must-have for the Sport S.)
Estimated Total Cost Range (Sport S Base): $69,000 - $95,000+

Key Takeaways:

  • Complexity and Cost Increase with Lower Base Trim: Starting with a Sport S requires significantly more aftermarket parts and labor to achieve the same level of capability and features as a Rubicon, often leading to a comparable or even higher final price, without the integrated factory warranty benefits of a higher trim.
  • Labor is a Major Factor: For either option, the installation of numerous aftermarket parts will add thousands of dollars to the total cost.
  • Factory Packages Save Money: Features bundled into factory packages (like Xtreme Recon or Steel Bumper Group on the Rubicon) are generally more cost-effective than buying and installing each component separately.
  • Warranty Considerations: Extensive aftermarket modifications can impact your factory warranty.
In essence, while the Sport S has a lower initial price, getting it to your desired specification makes it a highly customized and costly project. The Rubicon, by contrast, offers a more integrated and often more straightforward path to a very capable off-road machine, as many of your desired features are already available as factory options or direct Mopar accessories designed for it.

Why hasn’t jeep put an extreme package on the gladiator ? I think they are missing out on an opportunity. How about a functional package instead of an appearance package
How about something like factory front and rear lockers, lower gearing, a 4:1 low range transfer case, in cab controlled disconnecting sway bar, and 33" tires with higher clearance fender flares to match for better offroad capability? They could even name it for one of the most well known 4x4 trails in the USA. ;)

If only all of these parts were already available, likely better quality than what Jeep would use, and cheaper....
We have 2022 JLUR with the xr package and the 4.56 gears are the only upgrade in that entire package that we still run. KO2s are crap anyway so why not just put tires on? The xr springs were so soft it had several inches of sag with just basic camping gear in the back. The stock shocks have the same compressed length as the metalcloak rocksport reds, with 50% less stroke. Why people buy the most customizable vehicle on the planet with massive aftermarket support and then beg Jeep to build it THEIR way at 2x the cost is beyond me. The idea that you're saving cost is absurd. Sure if you over pay after the fact for mopar parts and pay for install it would have been cheaper to order it that way, but the aftermarket offers better products for much less. The Mopar steel bumpers on the JL are a perfect example. The rear is weak and will cause damage to the body if you drop it on an obstacle as it flexes like an empty beer can. The front is more stout, but "winch ready" is a joke. Ready after you drop a couple hundred dollars into a winch plate, remove and reassemble the entire thing(so much for that labor savings) and reinstall. Then you're still left with open tow hooks and no hoop to protect the winch you just put on or give you a place to mount lights. Yes, all of that can be fixed aftermarket. And now you've got a quality bumper and winch with proper recovery points. You're also $500-1,000 into the bumper you already overpaid for from the factory and you've rebuilt the entire thing.

I agree with the points you made. Yes, we often forget that the Mopar bumper is "winch capable," not "winch ready" — a common oversight! I prefer the Rugged Ridge Venator bumper because it's arguably the best-looking option and comes pre-configured for a winch. The Mopar steel bumper probably offers the best combination of sturdiness, functionality, and good looks. However, in my opinion, everything from Mopar is honestly 20% to 30% overpriced.

I think the original poster is simply venting their frustration about the limited options available to us as Gladiator owners. I completely agree with them and share the same sentiment. Jeep needs to do a much better job of providing us with more choices, and not just on those ridiculously priced trims like the "XX Special Edition 392++++ Final Final Final and Yet Again Final Edition" — just kidding! But seriously, I understand where they're coming from.

Future Enhancements and Options
Jeep really needs to step up its game by opening up options for everyone, including future engine enhancements and choices. It's good to see that they're slowly moving in that direction. Let's hope the new JPP hub will help produce a wider array of aftermarket products for us and inspire more competition.

I have faith that by the start of 2026, we'll begin to see many exciting new developments.

I'm with you for the engine options that aren't over priced. I'll pass on even the Mopar lift kit as it's incomplete and over priced and installing an aftermarket suspension is easy. Replacing the drive train on the other hand is not. Even the 392 is cheap compared to doing a proper 392 swap after the fact. I'd love to see a 5.7L option for under $5k and I think that would boost the hell out of sales.

Absolutely!! 5.7 would be hot seller.I believe sometime this summer or early fall we will hear an annoucement about it. Ram will have something on it around June. I just hope we dont get nobody complaining about MPG lol

On the mopar lift i agree and you can find many aftermarket products which are much better. The problem comes with warrenty and if jeep was smart they would play that hand when selling proformance packages.

I agree to do a proper 392 swap with real axels, transfew cases, transmission, frame reinforments, addtional frame kits and everything else that is needed would be over be insanse. Could be a fun research project to indentify true cost. Good Lord
