Something really seems fishy about this.

There has to be some kind of big story or big secret being hidden.

I saw this thing with my own eyes November 29! Wish I would have gotten a better picture of it.

Could that be referring to the harness under the dash? Did you see a brake controller in the truck?

Yes. In place of the lighter.

some YouTubes of the L A Auto show pan by it. You can hit pause and zoom in for a better look.

It's been in Jeep's marketing from the beginning including page 32 of the online brochure

My understanding is that Tekonsha was manufacturing the original brake controller that was being shown off back in November and earlier this year, and even listed on the early builds on the website before being removed. At some point this partnership was dissolved. I was informed of whom the new manufacture was, but cannot remember of whom exactly it was as this was a few months back. That would mean they would have to start all over on design, tooling, testing, and certification. Which would explain the extra delay.

Just returned from a large south Florida dealer. The orderer/purchaser had no information about the release. He said, “you have more information than I have.”

Frustrating.

Got tired of the BS and installed a Wireless Prodigy RF brake controller on my trailer.

Yeah. I’ve gotten my hopes up too many times. I’m no longer holding my breath. FCA refuses to commit. This must be really bugging them. Must be something really huge going on.

Email dated 10/13 from my local dealership

"Great. I will check on the availability of these as well. This will be a very nicely equipped Gladiator, that is once we can get a brake controller. Been watching this. I understand that Jeep had a supplier at product launch and for some reason, dropped the relationship. There is a new product in the works but it has to go through the whole certification testing process, thus the delay"

Anyone hear of further updates? Would love to add a clean factory controller to my new JTR.

Anyone have experience with the Curt Spectrum controller? Looks like a relatively clean alternative to install but not cheap, especially when I have a Tekonsha P3 I can pull from another one of my trucks that i'm in the process of selling.

Same!! Holding off on drilling my P3 in. FCA said in writing that the target was September. Hopefully any day now?

Want to track this as I will need a brake controller when/if my Jeep is ever built. Dealer wanted about 400 to put an after-market controller in - actually they don't do them, they send the trucks out to another shop - that I don't trust after I saw one installed with crimp connections - Scotchlocks.
