It’s been months since we posted the first prototype Jeep pickup spy photos after FCA officials made mention of the company’s plans for the Jeep pickup truck, but the company has now issued the first official press release confirming the new Jeep pickup — read full press release inside.

Last week, we broke news (with dates) that the JT pickup truck will be built at the Toledo Supplier Park (Toledo South). FCA has just confirmed this in today’s press release.

Any chance for a V8? Or will the engines be exactly the same as the JL?

People will gobble up a Jeep Pickup I'm predicting the won't make enough to meet demand like the current Wrangler.

Is this the first FCA confirmation in writing? What a strange way to do it. Usually it follows some kind of official debut or concept, not just a one liner buried in with some other news.

Jeep pickup hellcat would be amazing. But everything I've read here and elsewhere says it'll get the same engines as the regular Wrangler.

Jeep projects they're going to sell 100k Jeep pickups a year, which is a lot already. If demand is more than that maybe they can make more since it sounds like it might have the whole Toledo South line to itself.

There's now rumors of a mid-sized Ram in development based on the JT Wrangler pickup platform and built on same line as the JT. So that could be why only the JT is scheduled for the Toledo South plant so far.

I'd be interested in both but it could mean the JT is going to be more of a straight adapted Wrangler than a real truck with a proper sized bed, good towing capacity ETC.
