So was running 35's on 3inch lift with Rancho geometry brackets. I had core 4x4 adjustable control arms for 6 month sitting on my toolbox. I been debating on taking the geometry brackets off or running them with the adjustable control arms.
So last weekend went to Holly oaks orv park in Michigan. Nice park nothing really hard so I choose a concrete obstacle and I heard it hit. So this weekend I decided to put on the adjustable control arms. And to my surprise not only scrap the geometry brackets it scraped the stock control arms at the geometry brackets mounting point(see pics) then I notice that mounting point had a slight bend. It was barely noticeable.
So I took them off and running just the adjustable control arms. They will hit and cause damage if you do any wheeling don't use them. You are asking for trouble and possible failure on the trail. Just my opinion for everyone.

This has been discussed so many times. But damaging a replicable bracket is far better than damaging the factory welded non-replicable bracket. You will still hit the arms, only now will be hitting the factory welded brackets too. This is why companies make control arm bracket skid plates. It's hardly, IMO, a reason to ditch brackets. You will have better ride quality with them, which is the point of them in the first place.

1st they hang 4inches Lower as I measured them. Your not going to bend the factory brackets as they are recessed. And of course it's been discussed how many people post pictures or just run the mouth. And my ride has not changed and steering is great. I believe geometry brackets are not needed and for people that don't wheel. Because with good quality parts and installation you don't need the brackets.

I’ve bent a stock control arm in my JK in the past, I was pretty surprised how easy it bent, but likely was just the random way contact was made. I had to replace the arm immediately as the Jeep was driving pretty crooked!

Anyway next step if you damage the new arms or factory mounts is to cut all that off and go full long arm ?

Factory brackets do in fact hang down. They are not recessed... Here's a photo reference.

Running just adjustable arms works for you and thats awesome, glad you like your configuration better. Ride quality is a very subjective statement.

Data ? Same story since lift kits for XJ's came out .. Long arms on rocks and Drop brackets on rocks cause many complaints about both . It all depends on what you do with your Jeep. Just part of the prelift research we do

Man it would be nice if EVO would come out with a high clearance kit for the JT like they had for the JK…..

Exactly, I was referring to wheeling not driving up a gravel road with a rut or two.

Like @Gizmo said, it all depends on what you do with your Jeep. Doesn't matter if you are "wheeling" or "driving up a gravel road with a rut or two." As @chorky indicated, they are primarily for improving on-road ride quality. I think Rancho's website say something about that. If you lower an item on your rig, it may hit something while you are out "wheeling". There's a lot of metal hanging down on a JT and depending on which trail you decide to conquer next weekend, you may still hit something. There's a whole market out there of all kinds of "skid" add-ons. The bigger the obstacle, the harder the hit.

Knowing what hangs lowest and where is the key, then you can use the equipment as it is intended and designed, without destroying things.

MOST of all of our driving is on highway. That's just a simple fact.
If it isn't then you're truly in the purpose built market and should probably be running a custom buggy with long arms and much much better approach and departure capabilities than a Gladiator offers.

The point is went to Windrock never hit a control arm . Put the brackets on and hit them on minor obstacles. I am experienced in wheeling but hey don't take any advice. Go buy shit you don't need because I feel like alot of jeep parts aren't needed. And people fall for the gimmick I spent $200 for them. I should rolled down the window and threw the money out. The point of the forum is to learn and not argue. I showed pics of what happened to mine. So my data says they are a gimmick.
When mine was aligned at jeep with a 25 yr tech we discussed the brackets and lifts. He even said you don't need them if it's aligned properly and within specs it will ride like stock in the steering and bumps. He even said if mopar thought they was need jeep would add them in their kits.
