Statement: Jeep® Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator Fire Risk

June 9, 2026 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is recalling an estimated 1,076,999 U.S.-market vehicles to inspect, and if necessary, repair or replace the wiring harness and/or electric hydraulic power steering pump.

An internal investigation determined that certain model-year 2021-2025 Jeep® Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator vehicles may have an electrical connection issue in the electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring. In rare circumstances, this may cause combustible materials to overheat, potentially leading to a vehicle fire.

Out of an abundance of caution, FCA US is taking this action and advising owners of these vehicles to park away from structures or other vehicles until the remedy is obtained.

Affected customers will be notified by first-class mail when they can schedule service. FCA US is working diligently to accelerate remedy availability and anticipates a solution no later than July. The company urges owners to follow the instructions on their recall notices. Customers with additional questions or concerns can call customer care at 1-800-853-1403 or visit recalls.mopar.com for more information.

Additional vehicles will be subject to recall in Canada (est. 106,258), Mexico (est. 23,704) and markets outside North America (est. 124,297).

Stellantis is recalling over 1.3 million Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators globally (including over 1 million in the U.S.) due to faulty power steering pump wiring that can overheat and cause fires. Owners are strongly advised to park their vehicles outside and away from structures until the issue is repaired.

Model years 2021-2025 Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator.

The Problem: An electrical connection flaw in the electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring can cause combustible materials to overheat and create a spontaneous fire risk.

Is this fire risk showing up there already or not until they have a fix? I checked my VIN and it said I didn't have any "unrepaired" recalls.
Yeah mine only shows recall for HPFP. Give it a few days and check again. Or just wait for the snail mail to show up.

Another recall dodged on my 2020. I only had one when it was new. Something with the back up camera coming on too slowly and they fixed it during a free oil change while I had a loaner car.

Mine isn't in recall as the pump number isn't listed. Mine is an early build 2021 sport w/max tow.
