Thank you! These photos are helpful. Don't think I'll be going U-Haul trailer, especially since it may be for 4k+ miles.
Some variables made me do it this way. This is a manual JT. Wife has a auto JLU and could have driven the JT down pulling the other trailer with it, but the clutch was at 77000 miles and under recall without parts available, so to save it from toasting this clutch, we put the JT on the trailer instead. I wouldn't do it again. We checked everything every 100 miles, nothing moved. Now, with the new clutch installed, I would have no issues with her pulling the trailer and her Jeep on the flatbed.

I tried to rent a U-haul trailer to get my Gladiator home after hitting a deer, they wouldn't rent it to me.
I borrowed my neighbors 18 foot trailer, it was big enough but I'd have been more comfortable with a larger trailer.
I had to run the front tires up against the rail on the front of the trailer.

If I buy my own it will be a 20 foot.
Gladiator will fit on my 18' Aluma with EASE.
The whole truck, winch hook to rear bumper hook is only about 18'
So I wouldn't even have to pull my JT clear forward. I could line up the front of the bumper just behind the front bars, leaving a bit of space up front, and the rear wheels would make contact easily 3' from the rear edge.
It isn't even close.

Rent a car dolly and pull the rear driveshaft
If you do the car dolly, I would think it'd be the same as a simple 'flat-tow' like many do behind their RVs.

Then it's even more simple than that...get the front end on the dolly and secure the wheels then simply put the T-case in neutral and off you go.

Better read the book. Dolly tow is a big no-no. (Maybe ok pulling driveshaft)

Didn't know that. I wonder why it's okay to flat tow with the t-case in neutral but, not dolly tow with front wheels on the dolly and rear wheels on the ground?

One would think that with the t-case in neutral, nothing is really spinning in the t-case or trans because the t-case is set to neutral on a dolly just like flat towing.

Whelp, learn sumpin' new every day.

Probably a lubrication thing............ similar to towing automatics on a dolly, you spin the transmission internals but the pump isn't running to lubricate things.
Likely a transfer case design thing.

I like the tow dolly with rear driveshaft pulled idea. Safe, cheap, and pretty easy.
