Benjamin, just wondering if that rack will support a roof top tent. Is that your plan? BTW... Mine is Gobi too. Getting started myself.
Hi

Yes the rack can support up to 2000 lbs
Solid build and great fabrication

That rack looks like it will work with a Diamondback perfectly. The link you provided is for both horizontal bars, what is the part to connect them? Based on the description it seems like this link is for the two bars that connect the front rack to the back? Is this the other part needed? https://www.vanguardmanufacturing.com/products/ADJUSTABLE-LADDER-RACKS.html#

Can you post some more pics of the rack when you get a chance please?

On the road and will totally send you all some more close ups of the rack.
Lots of modes using spec'd U bolts -- That's how I attached the awning etc.

Easily clears the Soft top.

This link will give you idea of the setup....

Shows for a Toyota but fit perfect on the Jeep due to the adjustable bars.

Stay tuned.... more to be posted...

Hey Hey, looks great! I've been on a quest like this since I got my Glad in Jan and have been looking to install a bed-rack/ladder rack that will work (allow the factory Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover to open ALL the way to the back glass, and not just partly at a 45*) This might be the final puzzle piece if those over the wall brackets come with the rack or is there an additional part list you had to use.. If I could pick your brain for a minute, Vanguard looks like they sell the ones that only fit on the walls or bolt to the trail-rail, looks as though you found a better way.. Do you have a link or part number for those pieces? Any tips, help would not go amiss, Thanks

Looks like this is the one he has installed with the support base extending outboard of the bed rail.

I don't know where he got the 2000lb weight rating, but I read it is rated at 500lbs which should be enough for a RTT and two people. You need to buy the two additional side rails as well. Both the ladder rack and side rails are incredibly cheap at $242 in comparison to a dedicated overland rack which run 800 and up. Even with the purchase of the soft top at under 800 its a heck of a deal. I like the idea of a covered truck to keep rain, dust, and dirt off your camping gear. Most of the metal/fiberglass caps out now are very expensive from 2k to over 3k, not to mention the A.R.E. cap that just came out for the gladiator is not the heavy duty model and Tacoma owners are reporting stress cracks from loading RTT on them.

I just want to be sure this is the right model of ladder rack BenjaminJ purchased. Looks like he has a perfect fit.
