So I am just over 16,000 miles on my JT and though I havent crossed water that went above half the height of my stock tires (so say 15” deep, half of fording depth) I am thinking of changing fluids at 20k as several folks on the JL forum have said (some even sooner at 15k saying it was bad)
So far here is what dealer is saying quantity and prices (rounded) are
9.5qts of Mopar ZF 8&9 at about $30/qt so about $300!
3.38pts of Mopar ATF +4 (1.7qt) at $9.50/qt So $20
2.18 and 3.06 pints (2.6 qts) of 75w85 gear oil for front and rear at $50/qt so $150!
Motor oil - 5qts at $9.50 a qt - $50
That is over $500! Now, I got a gallon of Red Line gear oil for $80, a gallon of Mopar ATF +4 for $35, 6 quarts of the ZF for $130, and 6qts of Penzoil Ultra Platinum for $60. So some savings but damn next fluid change is going to be $350
